Default Rogue Legacy: platforms + roguelike

I just discovered a new game and I want to share it with you guys. It's a platform game which incorporates roguelike elements like permadeath and randomness everywhere. Give it a try, although I warn you, it's insanely addictive and also insanely hard.

EDIT2: Link to a let's play kind of video by the awesome Day9 (Starcraft2 commentator, instructor and player) -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JuPwILi6sgg

1 ULE, 1 UNE, 18 regular endings. Won with every race. Trying to win with every class. Never won with farmer, merchant, mindcrafter and thief.

What, not even a link or a screenshot? From the description it sounds like Spelunky. Is it like Spelunky?
ADOM Guides - whatever you wanted to know about playing a certain class, but have been afraid to ask!

Check out my youtube channel to see my ADOM videos, including a completed playthrough of the game. I try to give instructions, so if you want to see some place you haven't been before and get some hints on how to deal with it, this might help! There's also some other games featured there that you might find interesting.

Oh sorry, how could I forget about that?

I don't know Spelunky, but there may be some similarities at first sight...

Was it necessary to post this? I wasn't getting enough sleep even without it
I like my women like my ADOM loot - hunted as treasure and in extra quantity.

It's more Castlevania style than Spelunky. Also it has some persistent elements across characters, which has made many say it loses the roguelike feel and leads to grindy play. It's overall been rather universally praised though

For some more variety on the platformer roguelike front:

Spelunky - The first of its kind, and the most mature in implementation. The stealing from shops feature is especially nice.
Red Rogue - A more slow-paced, less twitch-based form of the genre, with some nice item mechanics and a cool minion. The story is meant to be a sequel to the original Rogue.
Cargo Commander - Procedural platformer with terrain destruction mechanics.
    Earl Spork - A turn-based ASCII side-scrolling platformer that's quite cute.
Bump - Another turn-based procedural platformer, with terrain destruction and some interesting emergent situations.

Hey Grey, thanks for the alternatives. I'll check them out.
