    Default Need to earn 1.7 million XP for ULE - ideas?

    I need to earn 1.7 million more XP to hit level 45. This is prerelease 1.5

    I'm a dwarven weaponsmith, crowned L+. I have decent magic missile knowledge, excellent armor and weapons.

    I've done most everything I can think of that I can do before 45. Here are my options as I see them(possibly some combination of these)
    1) Farm the BDC. At this point an Ancient Blue Dragon is about 17k xp, so I'd have to kill 100 of them, and the xp will fall off. Also, they'll get more dangerous. I might get lucky and get greater titans/greater molochs, but no guarantee.
    2) Wish (I have 2 wishes) for an Ancient Karmic Wyrm. Sharad-Waador was 1.3 million XP for me after I made him invisible. I have the means to make one invisible safely, but I have no way to cast Slow Monster on myself.
    3) Wish for the emperor moloch. I understand this produces greater molochs, but I've never tried it myself. I have on-demand teleportation and can defeat greater molochs easily assuming I'm allowed a turn to move after summoning them. A greater moloch in the BDC was worth 445k, and that was without making it invisible (at the time I killed him it didn't occur to me to make him invisible)
    4)Kill the water dragon (I'm an L+ champion - this feels wrong...)
    5)Wait for day 90 and kill Keriax - but that will make the scintillating cave much worse.
    6)Do the quickling tree (I have the corruptions but see #5)

    Any recommendations? I think #3 would be the most fun, if it's not a colossally stupid idea. I assume I should do it on a high danger-level level?
    But I'd also like to save my wishes for Andor Drakon.

    How much slaying ammo do you have?

    If you have alot of slaying ammo and on demand teleport I would strongly suggest wishing for emperor moloch. Greater molochs are slow and not that dangerous if handled the right way (ie: the barbarian glade, I took a level 42 ish archer to level 50 with no difficulty at all, you just sit across the river and nuke them. Or you summon them on about level 40 and just make sure you don't lure them to the stairs and your golden)

    The karmic wyrm won't give you enough xp. Killing the water dragon might not either. Quickening tree certainly won't.

    other thing to consider is you are a weaponsmith, and if you kill the 50 odd greater molochs they will drop suits of armor which smelt down to a huge amount of eternium ingots - that will serve you well for andy.

    Have you killed casino shopkeep? He's usually 1+ million.

    In case you don't know - invisibility boost now only works when you actually don't see the opponent (no active see invisible intrinsic). Sharad should have given you a lot more.

    Emperor moloch would do the trick. Barbarians glade is a nice spot for it. You need lots of arrows though, and be sure to bless them.

    I'll give it a try.

    I'll save the casino shopkeep as a backup.

    Thanks.

    The invisibility nerfs, well, nerfed using wishes on AKWs as a huge source of experience. But a PC with a wand of paralyzation can still do it

    Alternatively, wishing for the emperor moloch in the Old Barbarian's glade and using the "ice island" method will give you way more than 1.7 million xps if you kill them all, even without exploiting stuff like speed and invisibility.

    About that, I was thinking of suggesting that the double xp bonus from killing an invisible monster be given for all kills if the PC is blind - after all, a blind character cannot see the monster(s) he's fighting or anything else.

    Then you'll have to halve the xp against blinded opponents

    If you have decent speed then hack & back is perfectly safe. Especially if you have some source of waterbreathing to retreat into the canal.

    Anon: how exactly does your ice island method thing work? I guess if you're really clever about it ( - Isolate AKW on ice island, throw potion of boost speed at it, throw potion of invis at it, slow monster yourself? Something like that? - ) you could gain incredible amounts of xp.

    You steal a scroll labelled HITME. The orc hits you.

    I always assumed that you were the one standing on the ice island...

    Create an ice bridge to the southernmost part of the lake, then bolt it with fire so that you stand alone at the bottom of the map, as gym21 said. Then you can make your emperor moloch wish and bolt/shoot away - the molochs can't get close to you, let alone hit you.

    Code:
    .....................=======&..#.........#...=====..............................
    ....................=======...&###########..&====...............................
    .........T............======....&...&.......=====......T.....T......T...........
    .....T.........T.........========T..===========.................................
    ............................===============.....................................
    .....................&&&.&.&..=====@=====&&....&................................
    ..............................===========.......................................
    ..............................===========.......................................
    Trapping the AKW in the water as you mention is a great idea in principle, but a bug in the game doesn't allow wished-for monsters to appear if you're surrounded by ice bridges So unless you can somehow lure the wyrm through and then teleport without getting blasted by bolts or pummeled in melee...
