A very promising Lvl 18 Gray Elven Necromancer

Got Healing from Dr. Krunfwhatever and survived early game without issues.
A lot of herbs + chaotic altar in early CoC
Precrowned at level 8 with f*cking BRACERS OF WAR
Had Teleport, Invisibility and Lightning Ball spells by level 10
Crowned at level ~15 with fire immunity, Ring of Immunity, antennae and tough scales (+8 PV!) corruptions
Finished all dwarven quests, cleared Pyramid and Darkforge without any issues whatsoever.
Collected RotHK and was on my way out, happily meleeing a bunch of enemies in a hallway with my shiny new mace of penetration.
Had 60/39 DV/PV and never went lower than 90 percent hp in the past hour or so.
Staring at the death screen.

Petrified by the first breath of the first encountered gorgon.

Oh yeah gorgon took my very promising grey elven wizard not that long ago. I was pretty much around the stage of the game that you ended up at.
I had an eternium long sword of penetration and girdle of giant strength so I was meleeing things with my wizard to conserve spells that I had a deficiency of.
Too bad, the gorgon appeared right behind a corner and breathed on me when he was already critically wounded... so close.

PS. The worst thing was that I poolsipped a lot and got that petrification resistance at some point, but lost it again when I greedily continued sipping to get a second wish.
