Yes, I think poisoning stacks of missiles is maybe the best bet. Only thing I don't like about it is the different 'charged' ones un-stacking afterwards.
I haven't thrown many potions of poison, so this is all just speculative once again. I must say, I do like to use poison. Especially against those Dark Elves, giving them back some of their own.
