Default First win - After 8 long years

I'm rather embarrassed by this fact, but I started playing ADOM almost 8 years ago. Finally, I have my first win - Dwarven Healer.

Found 5 grater vaults - 2 undead (Which I avoided), 2 red dragon, 1 of giants. I reached D:48 and was extremely corrupted, so I returned to the surface for the Greater White Unicorn's quest. I found no SoCR (Except for HMV), no PoCC (Except from Guth'Alak), no RoDS, and got no wishes from pools though I drained every one I found. I hit grand mastery around the 5th Greater Vault, on D:46 (I think). In addition, I had to do the ToEF without a fireproof blanket (because I didn't find one), but that wasn't entirely awful because of Hammerhead. All my unnatural aging is from one hit from a ghost king.

The SoCR from the HMV I used uncursed because I had the poison hands corruption early on, and had no thick or alchemistic gauntlets.

The most tense moment was in darkforge when I was draining pools for a wish (Right after I got poison hands) and I had previously thought it would be a good idea to try and kill Kherab for his anvil. He sat on the door, and it took 10 or so tries to escape past him to the stairs.

Well done, perseverence paid off. Did you do it unspoiled?

    Wow, five greater vaults.

Does this mean you were drinking from the pools while doomed?

Why didn't you use missiles? Did you also melee Nuurag-Vaarn? Pretty balsy I'd say, when you could just shoot five slayers with your awesome dexterity (even more from rune-covered trident). : )

How did you make it past the battle bunny level?

    Congratulations on the first win!

    !
I was going to ask this, too! It looks like there might be a good story here. I saw the 511 battle bunnies slain and suddenly Mither transformed into Elmer Fudd, lol. No judgement on my part though! In my first win I didn't do the "proper" spoiled tactic of digging through the level immediately and ended up pummeling my way through hordes of bunnies to reach the stairs then I ran like hell.

Really nice job finally winning the game! Especially without SoCR. Really smart deciding to do the unicorn quest before plunging into D:50. I, stupidly, almost ended my first win as a stain of grape jelly on Fistanarius's shirt.

My first visit to the bunny level was as awful as Spitemaster's.
Had to kill hundreds to get to the stairs. Magic is your friend in that situation, or was for me. It is near impossible through combat.

Oh, wow looks like he did it through combat, hooray for stilts.

I did it horribly, horribly spoiled.

When I fought Kherab, I underestimated how tough he was and was only about level 30. I didn't have that high dex at that point.
Yeah, I meleed Nuuarg-Vaarn. :P I did it in the dark, so nothing else was hitting me, then just kinda flailed around until I found his corpse on the ground. I had ~100 DV when I was normal and wielding a shield and the scorched spear, so I even fought molochs in melee, (and only used my phase dagger for the greater moloch I fought), only resorting to ranged for karmic creatures.

As for the battle bunnies, I tunnelled through (<3 Hammerhead), but I must have missed a few. I had to put a door in the tunnel at the far end and then exterminate them. It wasn't that bad, as I was one-shotting them with wyrmlance. The worst part about it was the karmic dragon that had decided to hide amongst them and I couldn't get a clear shot at.

What I notice that the log doesn't mention is how I had my regen maxed, and had 2 sources of regeneration (3 if I put on my bracers of regeneration), so I was meeleing Ancient Red Wyrms and not really taking damage/needing to heal.

5 greater vaults... I have no words.
My last char had none. NONE.
It was a high end GE Wizard that could have blasted worst undead greater vaults with 60 Wi and +30 fireball.

Congratulations, Spitemaster. You can play ADOM for years, never win, and still not give up on the game. That's one of the reasons it's so great.

And as mentioned, five greater vaults is awesome - can I borrow your RNG? Nice set of artifacts generated, too

The bunny level should be an undiggable, no-teleport area. Seriously, people just take a shortcut by digging south and killing the source of all those rabbits? Overpowered exploit.

You can't be serious. Play a normal game and go down there and see how it feels to kill a thousand bunnies. That will be the last time you do it.
