DE Barbarian meets her early demise in D:45

I'm still trying to go for my first victory. This time I had a pretty good geared level 31 DE Barbarian. Upon entering D:45 got the tension room message, started looking for the room and found a room filled with items. Never had a char go this far in the game so first I thought it's a random item room, but just before entering I figured it must be mimic tension room. Got cocky and thought my 452hp & 48 pv would be enough to clear the room without problems, even though i had no paralysis resistance. I started throwing my Hammer of the Gods (found at Darkforge) at them and they fell like flies until mimic hivemind got into melee range. Again being cocky I thought i'd 1-hit it with a tremendous blow, instead I critically injured it, it went into blind rage and paralyzed me with it first attacks. I pressed enter and you can guess the outcome.
Had very much fun playing that character, never made it past TOEF with any char. It could be said TOEF was my downfall with this char aswell. I entered it with only my gear on, fireproof blanket, wand of digging, pick axe and amulet of free action. Right after taking the second stairs up, my fireproof blanket was burned. Started making my way back down to go farm another blanket and save my gear, but all items in my inventory burned before I was able to exit. That was the only amulet of free action I found.
Had some crazy events with the char, for first of which was before saving Yrrigs, I came across a Chaos Mutant and killed it at VD:5. First I tried to outrun it, but it caught me, stunned me with first attack and dropped me to 5 hp. It had about 20 more speed than I did so the only chance to survive was to get lucky and 1-hit it while stunned. Activated berserker, rolled the dice and managed to hit it and kill it. Later I accidentally aggroed Waldenbrook. I got corrupted with unholy aura while raiding Darkforge. I didn't know all the effects of this corruption and didn't think losing some charisma would be too bad. Ran from Darkforge back to dwarftown to check B/U/C-status of items and sell. While entering shop, Waldenbrook got scared because of the aura and summoned some dwarves around me. I didn't actually have any problems killing him or his guards, since I had been crowned with Skullcrusher earlier. After noticing how easy the shopkeepers are and how much xp they give, went on and killed a couple of more and also the casino shopkeeper later.
In Darkforge I got a wish, wished for AoLS. Started making my way towards the dying guy, killed a few mobs in Big Room and boom, another AoLS drops. Never did anything with the second AoLS, too bad it didnt drop a few minutes earlier so I could have used my wish for something else.
