    Cool One sassy Human Assassin! You go girl!

    This is my first 1.2.0 win, and it turned into such steamrolling fun by the end... I wanted to try a harder combination, although I think I fail in equal amounts with the classic combos regardless! Also decided not to go the Treasure Hunter route but lots and lots of artifacts were generated!

    Poppy was a Candle-born Human Assassin who notably started with To: 20 - I think this helped her early survival as she immediately went down the SMC, picking up an adamantium dagger on the way. A book shop and a general shop were generated, but Poppy was sadly illiterate to begin with. A neutral altar was also generated on UC: 7 so she started prepping for precrowning - the plan was to go for 2 precrowns as she'd only generated the si at this stage - the 1st precrown was Hammerhead (woo!), but she almost died working on the 2nd precrown, and instead of a basic heal, her goddess Istaria decided to crown Poppy with Kinslayer and shock immunity!

    This was sneaky, I didn't see the crowning, and it was only when I saw Kinslayer's unID'd name on the ground that I realised what had happened, so I went to the shudder room that was generated on UC: 8 and self-mutilated Poppy with fireball and acid traps, and zapped her with a wand of lightning she'd picked up on the way to work out the immunity as it wasn't in the message buffer any more.

    Then, it was time to clean shop above ground a little - gave the little girl her puppy corpse, killed Keethrax, got the AMW+Ankh, picked up a crown of ice in the Dwarven Graveyard plus some seven league boots, and black dragon scale mail in Darkforge (a very helpful neutral altar was generated upstairs from Darkforge). RoTHK was a bit fiddly as the skeletal king decided to pick up some of my dropped stuff and walk back over the water, had to wait until he lunged for Poppy again. I was still unsure about heading for the ToEF until Poppy found some red dragon scale mail in DH: 1 (woo!). Ring of invisibility, potions of potion and blindness helped against the ACW, who was fought with melee. She then made a visit to the Ice Queen's Domain to do her quests, picking up the Crown of Leadership and the Iron Crown of Havlor in the Frost Giant Jarl's greater vault. First time completing this place, very impressed, hope that there's more to do here as suggested by the Ice Queen (and that her 3rd quest is improved upon!).

    From then on in it was an easy trip to the Casino. Notably got a tower eternium shield. Poppy had a really easy Alchemy recipe for making potions of blindness so the Cat Lord was easily dispatched. A greater giant vault was generated a couple of levels below and Poppy picked up True Aim and the Silver Key - now looking like a really sassy Assassin. The Air Temple was aided by shock immunity, and then I decided at level 30 it was time to try the Minotaur Maze - never been here in any ADOM iteration so was worth a shot, plus, could frame it as an assassination target - was fun sneaking up on minotaur mages and one-shot backstabbing them after reading about how dangerous they could be (they just gave Poppy warts, the nasties), and the minotaur emperor was shot to death with True Aim. As well as the Axe, he also dropped the Ring of Immunity!

    Poppy decided to give the Axe of the Minotaur Emperor a whirl and put Kinslayer and her shield to one side for a bit. She also got the rune-covered trident so decided to train Throwing Spears a little. She came across a lesser red dragon vault, and subsequently a greater red dragon+great red wyrms vault (I think this vault was the guaranteed CoC one rather than the earlier greater giant vault). It was so much fun mashing all those wyrms to pieces and seemingly getting a level per wyrm killed. Here, she got the Bracers of War, which were worn straight away, and Long Sting, which was put in her pack and ignored for the rest of the adventure.

    Despite this, she switched back to Kinslayer and her shield, because as awesome as the Axe is, the only Axe where it's at is Executor, and it wasn't generated this game Earth Temple was easily dispatched of, and at the point of descending to the Mana Temple, I was tempted to take Poppy through the blue dragon caves, but I didn't want to push fate. She almost had a near-death experience though, as passing to the Mana Temple, there was a room of ghost kings who nearly aged Poppy to death (she hit 81 years old). At this point, she had a recipe for potions of longevity, but they required potions of extra healing. She had a wand of wishing with 1 charge and 2 blessed rings of djinni summoning - she wished for potions of longevity, potions of water to bless with (seriously, these were really short in supply through the entire game) and potions of youth. The potions of longevity didn't return Poppy's now astronomical stats to what they were, which is why the potions of youth were required. I was determined not to lose Poppy, so for that level, I used a blessed scroll of magic mapping and teleported to the exit rather than explore and risk the ghost kings again.

    Nuurag-Vaarn was super easy - he can teleport now in this version? Nice. Tried zapping him with a wand of paralysation, but that was shrugged, so went for the old poison+blindness trick and shot him with humanoid-slaying ammo. Then, made a descent to D:50, closed the Chaos Gate, then decided to hang around and kill all the balors, including Fistanarius. Poppy was level 50 and super-buff by this stage, with corruptions that weren't too bad (she had tentacle mouth for a long time so there was hardly any spellcasting going on) so nothing fazed her.

    Went back up to the surface, helped the white unicorn, lost her tentacle mouth and left the Chain with a shedload of artifacts, the only negative thing remaining from her experience being that she was unnaturally aged by 1 year

    Well played, congrats.
    With 60+ PV, shock immunity and ring of immunity, BDC would have been a piece of cake.
    Those great red wyrms in the greater vault are far more dangerous than anything BDC can throw at you, including Srax, whom I always dispatch in melee because he's less dangerous than a minotaur king.
    The only problem with him is a shitload of HP and regeneration but mino axe is the best at dealing with that.
    With double immunity, you were looking at very little equipment damage due to lightning and thanks to AotME - many rofl-stomping one-hit wonders with the wyrms and ancient blue dragons.
    Still, a nice victory with a stylish Kinslayer-wielding assassin.

    Thanks - I did consider the blue dragons but decided just to close the gate. I didn't even touch the scrolls of chaos resistance I got from the Dwarven Mystic, I had enough potions of cure corruption (thanks Ice Queen), and I also didn't visit the Rift or go into the Assassins' Guild proper either. Maybe next time I'll try visiting more places! Will probably try a spellcaster now.
