Blink dogs in SMC are deadly. When they are summoned, that usually means death in almost every case where the character has less than 10 PV and more than 3 levels.

In general, summoners in the SMC are a very quick way to get RNGed.

Your mistake was walking into the middle. Use hallways to be able to fight them one on one. In the wilderness, run to the edge of the screen with the fewest monsters nearby. Reduces how badly you can get surrounded. It's tedious but after getting hit, switch to coward and use first aid.

With 5 PV you should be able to overcome any horde of Jackals (as in the first screenshot) if you do things well as long as you have a weapon to damage them.
