    Unhappy Greed overcame me... and I dropped everything

    I was going for my second win with a ME Archer.
    Everything was going well, got Thunderstrock as a crown gift and Perion's Plate Mail as postcrown, overall I was very careful and was pumping my TO nicely (although slowly as expected). I killed the Snake from Beyond in two hits, and decided to go raid the darkforge before the ToEF.
    The Steel Golems were falling easy, two or three hits to die. I did not have any teleport control and my ST was low so I decided to leave all my inventory upstairs to carry as much as possible back (and avoid having to go up and down several times). Foolishly, I dropped everything... including all my ammo except Thunderstrock.
    The first golems were very easy. When walking to the weapons room I hit a teleport trap, got me on top of the crown of science. When leaving the room I shoot my quarrel and it did not return. A golem steps on it, I try to move back so that he follows me allowing me to pick it back up, I hit another teleport trap and I get to the treasure room. The steel zombies fell to my spear but on my way back I got cornered by two golems, no way past them, the spear is not doing anything, they do not hit me often but I have no way of doing any damage. My 3 scrolls of teleportation? upstairs. My construct slaying ammo? upstairs. My wands and brutal axe of devastation? upstairs. I prayed twice to get my health back up but it didn't matter. I got nothing on them and eventually they crit me and I died.
    All because I left everything upstairs... to carry more...

    EDIT: Now that I think about it, I had a darkness spell... that could have helped... doh!

    Haha this reminds me of a mindcrafter I lost in the tower of flames.
    I threw the rune trident at some demon and it didn't return.
    Subsequently the demon panicked, picked the trident up and left towards the temple interior.
    At the same time a fire giant king blocked my escape path.
    Trident was my main weapon and an adamantium spear that I was left with was not enough to kill the wyrm so he killed me instead.

    As a side note, I never visit the dark forge without any means of trap detection.
    All traps there have known locations so even low-level detect traps skill would work and it can be learned from Yergius.

    Interesting, I did not know that one could learn Detect Traps from Yergius, I thought he would only teach pick pockets and I never bothered to complete his quest.
    Thanks for the advice! 8 years and I am still learning in Adom... I love it...

    You can learn and train a lot of different skills with Yergius.

    The golems see in darkness, so it wouldn't have helped.
    Hoping to win with every class, doomed. Archer, Barbarian, Bard, Beastfighter, Druid, Elementalist, Farmer, Fighter, Monk, and ULE Priest down.

    On the other hand, they don't crash doors, so a Wand of Door Creation can often save your life in early dark forge exploration
