Death to a cat lord, that is. I won 4 times and killed him 4-5 times and never had any problems and never understood why he is considered one of the most dangerous things in ADOM. Only the thing is, my every character that reached him was an overpowered monster that eats wyrms for breakfast.
This troll was lucky at first. Started with 29 St, 25 To and 3 Le . Got blanket, saved a puppy, killed raider lord, found AoLS early, did not kill any cats till after ToEF. But then he kind of lost momentum. Never found a decent weapon - I was too lazy to train maces for big punch and that spear kind of worked most of the time. Defenses were not that stellar as well. ToEF was not difficult, I didn't stay and kill every fire grue as before and those fire giant kings caused some grief but wyrm died from slaying ammo before even reaching melee range. Killed a cat on my final CoC dive, it was one of those lions spared previously. Press arrow first think after, situation...
D:30 with tension room of ancient red dragons and mixed vault with quickling queen, moloch and two titans drained a lot of resources was another hint that extra care is required. Still I managed to kill everything and cat lord was never a problem before, so why worry?
My main mistake was fighting him at all. Down stair case was not blocked, so I could just leave, level up and come back later. Potion of blindness did not work, web rays were always shrugged and he was smart enough to avoid webbing. I, on the other hand, was not smart enough to lure him in a tunnel so webs could not be escaped. And not healing on that round was really stupid idea...
Well. Next on the list is die from ACW. I still don't understand why people are afraid of him...
