    Default Finished D50, still level 38 ?

So I was excited to try a Drakling duelist, R57. Wanted to get Grand Mastery in all 1h weapons!
Was not able to get the level 40 bonus, because he kicked too much ass.
Maybe I need to visit the Ice Queen's domain for S&G.

Did you have an unusually high speed?
I've had one case with drakeling that skipped ice queen, bugtemple, gremlin dungeon and minomaze, got very little exp in TOEF due to blazing speed, satisfied cat lord and was past casino at lvl 24-25, was my first aha of high speed exp penalty, I ran around with speed around 130.
Now I've enabled display exp (Show_Experience = true) so I don't get too hosed by this mechanic.

I had a very high Dx raven GE monk once, precrowned with nature's companion. The char found a lot of +speed items, including artifacts, got the cat ring and ate a lot of quicklings.
I had base speed of 150 at strained and bloated. Needless to say leveling up was taking forever, until I've found a spellbook of slow monster.
Cast on self, wished for emperor moloch and used the thrown rune trident to dispatch them. Boom, lvl 50.
Slow monster is a great spell for that and even duelists should be able to learn at least a few castings, enough to bookcast it once in a while, it's all it takes.

Yes they do but when you couple them with all the other speed bonuses, they are like half-quicklings, not to mention energy cost reduction at levels 12 and 18.

On my victory lap, I decided to do the Ice Queen Domain as drakeling.

So I was worried about the Chaos Diplomat, once I saw it had a speed of 250, vs my speed of 10.
Turns out the duelist at level 42 ( and str/dex/etc in the 40 range) is sufficient to one-punch him. Talk about a sad challenge.

I easier to go to the small cave that gets more dangerous as you level up.
Fiddling around killing greatly experienced Greater Molochs does wonders for xp.

Yeah, smc is a really fine idea if you want to quickly kill a high level char.
Enter at lvl 38 and a single quickling king offs you in a single turn.
You won't even see it coming.
I lost a lvl 50 monk that had all the best artifacts and non-artifact items boosted with written scrolls of protection and defense.
172 DV on coward, 70 PV and 800+ HP and I went in a single turn.
SMC is a *really* bad idea if you want to level up.
