Recently, I've been playing quite a few Elves who've been falling to way too many Fireball traps.
Doesn't help that I start out with less then 10 hp but I seam to run into a Trapped door every 2 doors..
Yeah, Fireballs get me way more often then they should.
such very early deats imo not much counts as you are losting a little time there (except if you reroll characters heavilly) it also do not saves in my highscore
If i should count it i quite often probably die in laventohil (where weak combination may be killed by everyone) at the time near first kill or in smc where i usually go ane exit at 4 level exp - if i surviwe it as a first quick test
may die with things i say like stone block hit of some bit stronger creature

    - afterall it much depends on character combination, the way of dayin depends much on character combiination, very weak are beaten by everything so when 2 prayers are spend they just may end life with
anything like gnoll etc, a bit stronger ones may feel well in pc-1-4 but die surrounded in pc5 etc

in general i thonk collecting observations is a way to mastery and beaing almost deadproof.. i think with stronger combinations like he archer or dwarven fighter I am near to be almost dead proof (if not esp unlucky like
to not found any sjield and any altar in early game - early game without shield is hard, +3 or +4 helps much, if someone will find +7 or +9 it is otherwise yet much easier

suitable altar in early game is another step near be dead proof, also with being literate, yet also with then having holly water and few scrolls where
like two are scrolls of identify, (doing precrowning or two - (which may be done often) and char yet safer)

Most common for me that I can think of is probably poison early on. Pit viper traps are a common way for a nasty, often essentially unavoidable death.

For my doomed games, paralysis-instakill by ghul/carrion crawler/staring eye/whatever is the worst by a huge margin, followed probably by poison and sleep.
Hoping to win with every class, doomed. Archer, Barbarian, Bard, Beastfighter, Druid, Elementalist, Farmer, Fighter, Monk, and ULE Priest down.

thats rigt, i agree 100% (it is if get no poison resistance)
maybe this anyway could be someway avoidable? they dont seem
to hit often, maybe some defensive tactics?

Maybe. I only count incessantly pointless or frustrating deaths.
The ones that happen WAY too often for no conceivable reason.
I don't care too much if I've reached lvl 15 or so and I find that I was not adequately prepared for a a given challenge (if happens.)
But taking 1 step in a starter cave and getting one-shotted before I could see what I was up against......30 times in a row.

Yeah, nothing else really matters beyond that.
