Chthonians: monstrous beings in the Cthulhu mythos. Land-dwelling enormous mucous squids with an elongated body. The "head" end of their huge bodies is packed with groping tentacles. Despite their appearance water may even harm them. Chthonians are able to burrow and travel underground but the chanting noise they produce may lay them bare. These horrible creatures live over thousand years.

    Fomorians

An ancient race, emerged from Chaos aeons ago. They have the form of misshapen humanoids with animalistic features, commonly a goat's or a boar's head. Fomorians can be fearsome fighters and powerful shamans. They hate all civilized societies and thrive to destroy them however they can.

    Morloch (from The Time Machine)

A humanoid creature that is possibly the descendant of men or dwarfs left in the darkness too long. They live their lives entirely in darkness, as any level of light hurts their weak eyes. Covered in thick, dark fur, these monsters prowl the caverns looking for a meal to snatch with their long, sharp claws....

Morlochs always come in groups of 3-7.
They are never generated on a lighted space, they will never move away from a dark space.
Morlochs can 'see' in the dark, and they are immune to light traps.
If a morloch finds itself on a lighted space, it is stunned / confused until it wanders back into the darkness. they would probably get a few moves to move into a dark area before they get stunned, though.

Basically, a monster that fights well in the dark and gives PCs a reason to be afraid. Wilderness encounters might be possible, after sunset.

How about some original monsters? Would be nice to see something other than rip-offs of every other fantasy piece out there.

Though I do have to suggest crab-people... And centaurs would make sense in the setting.

But hmm, some simple, fairly original ideas that would fit in well in JADE:

Lynn - short humanoid with cat-like features. Strong, fast, intelligent, stealthy.
Giant maggot - two-foot long breeders. Generally slow and harmless, but if left for too long will hatch into giant flies. Giant flies don't hit hard, but are fast and frustratingly hard to hit.
Gargantuan rat - eight-foot long rodent with a huge jaw and an insatiable appetite.
Mutated rat - four-foot long rodent with a mass of limbs and many heads. Multiple attacks and very likely to poison or sicken.
Rat lord - basically a more powerful wererat - very strong and fast, and can summon gargantuan and mutated rats.
Opex - elemental anomaly - one for each type. Teleports, shoots bolts, attacks with elemental property. Hard to hit.
Pyromancer / Geomancer / Aeromancer - sorcerors that specialise in their respective elements
Greater Pyro/Geo/Aeromancers - more formidable sorcerors that can also summon creatures of their elements (imagine an aeromancer summoning lightning vortexes all around you - he'd be immune of course)
Siphason - mindless creature, normally invisible, hard to hit. Drains mental stats and PP, and more alarmingly can reduce knowledge of skills, spells, items and dungeon features.
Leiken - mindless creature, normally invisible, hard to hit. Drains physical stats and HP and restores its health from them.
Giant Amoeba - large acidic blob that breeds slowly. Easy to hit but has lots of hp and quickly regenerates. If you strike it with a bladed weapon and don't kill it in one hit then it splits into two (each part starts with half the former hp).
Garda - tall, beautiful creatures with angelic features. Skin glows providing light to surroundings. Hostile to all who are not lawful good. High defense and uses tough physical attacks.
Enforcer - heavily-armoured angelic beings wielding powerful holy weapons. Hostile to all non-lawful.
Purger - extremely tall and powerful angelic being using strong weapons and magic. Hostile to all non-lawful.
Grey Restorer - shadowy, robed creatures of void substance that always hold scales in one hand. Uses paralysing physical attacks. Hostile to all who are not true neutral. Will heal and help true neutrals.
Grey Pacifier - tall, thin creatures with sinewy skin and completely blank faces. Uses confusing attacks and non-elemental magic. Will resort to petrifying enemies when low on health. Hostile to all who are not true neutral.
Grey Judge - giant humanoids that wield huge two-handed hammers. Slow but fierce, and hostile to all who are unbalanced.
Grey Executioner - titanic humanoids with a cloth over their faces, wielding huge two-handed axes. Incredibly fast and strong, and hostile to all unbalanced.
Devourer - small and fast demons with huge mouths and claws that tend to attack in packs. Will quickly tear anyone to shreds and feast on their flesh.

Will try and think of more when my brain's less tired...

These are all fantastic ideas that I hope to see implemented.

Speaking of lawful creatures: Metatrons. Lawful angelic creatures similar to the banshee, ie all non-lawful creatures in hearing range are instantly killed by the voice of divine order.

Yes, fresh ideas are always welcome. I like monsters that are original (though not too original ), unique in a way and generally make the game feel more complete.

Nice rat related ideas... Although I would combine the gargantuan rat and the mutated rat into a horrible corruption radiating bulging mutated mass of flesh and blood veins. These unusually long living leviathan rats might have been created centuries ago by insane chaos wizards being the product of foul magic and arcane powers of primordial chaos.

These are all fairly good ideas.

    Another one:

Argent punisher - a fairly large swift-moving bipedal creature with scythelike claws that seems to burn in white, golden and silvery flames. These creatures only harm beings that are not good-aligned. They are more dangerous to evil characters than neutral ones. They are able to utilize some mindcrafting powers and deal massive amounts of damage in melee. They dodge attacks rather easily (including spells) but have relatively low hit points. They are able to become partially massless (transparent and harder to damage, the PC has a chance per turn to detect them based on perception) allowing them to walk through solid matter.

ADOM has a hell hound. And that's it.

Cerberus is a multiheaded dog with a snake as a tail and multiple snakes as a mane, whereas the hell hound in ADOM is described as a huge sulphur-stenching bulldog with hairless black skin that pulsates red light.

I've been thinking it as a more powerful version of the hell hound.

    Astral Deamon

Probably one of the hardest creatures to kill. Though NPC magic might need some adjustment to make it balanced.

Teleport: Like a blink dog. But with teleport control. When it's low on heath, it will cast teleport on itself and get away.
Slow: Can cast slow on the PC.
Manaburn: Zaps magic missiles at the PC, which also drain PP. This drain does not exercise mana.

Maybe a few more abilities. It should be dangerous not because it's strong, but because it's smart.
