Just had to share this anecdote:

Dwarf priest does puppy cave first, finds Scorched Spear guarded by an owlbear, then tried some pool-sipping. The fourth sip yields a wish, so I wish for the AoLS.

Then I cleared the vault on PC6, and found another AoLS.

Then I cleared the druid dungeon, and found ANOTHER AoLS!

Clearly this character is doomed.

My would-be UCG found an AOLS, put it on and level below was gibbed in a greater moloch treat room.

This is why I never spend an early wish on aols - it can be found just about anywhere later in the game.
Wishing for one might end up with you using it just to survive.
There are better early wishes to increase survival - RDSM, 7lb, eternium stuff.

I've just found my first AoLS (cursed), before Kelly but sadly after being crowned neutral, so i let him die and kept it for myself
1 Amulet, 1 Ring of Djinny (not even used), No wands of wishing (never) in hundreds of games I have played, I was thinking that were just legends....
But about RNG, I had once an archer that entered the SMC at Level1 and leave UD at Level11 with: Thunderstroke, Bracers of war and Lust for Glory, dominate easy the entire game until it was suicided against a doppleganger king at very lower CoC.........

Well, so I'm not alone at least...
but what about that mighty scroll mentioned in the message in the HMV in the hidden room? It's a joke or exist somewere?

"The Scroll of Omnipotence" Is just another of the many mysteries of the game.

So far as I know no one has found it yet, though some suspect it is the crumpled scroll held by the Emperor Moloch when going for an ultra ending, others suspect it is simply unused coding which will be implemented later, or perhaps a bygone element from a much earlier version of the game.

Then there are those which think it is similar to the frog quest - in that the conditions are some mysterious thing which is almost impossible to find normally and/or activate but that it is in the game.

Personally I think it is a cheat the creator used/uses for testing, probably a scroll which acts like a PoGA, but +99 to all stats instead of +1, probably spawned when a specific name is entered in the name field at character creation, or something similar, but that's just a random notion that's been sitting in my head.

I've found that wand a handful of times, but I've been playing ADOM for many, many years...

I found it once in the tower of flames, once in the griffyard, and once in a vault deep in the CoC. The other times I don't remember but it's defnitiely a high-danger level item and you won't find one in the early game.
