Damage in ToEF despite sufficient fire resistance

My level 25 Gnome Beastfighter is hungry for some ACW flesh. He's wearing two rings of fire resistance, bracers of resistance and the elemental gauntlets, on top of (I'm almost sure) intrinsic fire resistance. Still every few turns he receives the message "You feel dizzy due to the extreme heat" and takes a few HP damage. I've never seen this before. So, to put it as eloquently as I can:
What's up with that?

Never mind, figured it out: Frozen blood corruption.

Yeah, that's it. But speed, that speed... Lovely!

get the Immune to Pain feat, and all will be well. Well, with I2P and First Aid, you can pretty much not lose HP tooling around. 400 speed you can pretty much slay with impunity.
