ADOM Error Message

while loading a certain character (ratling ranger Lvl30) ADOM loads a while
(4 or 5 lines)
and then throws the error message

expected chunk 'LMRS' not found

After clicking OK ADOM ends itself.

another new character is fine in saving and loading him, so the game itself seems to be still intact,
only the file of one certain character (whom I love) seems to be corrupt.

Now I have to say that my notebook is slowly dying at the moment,
throwing some NMIs after a while or corrupt memory pages
so I don't put the blame on ADOM here. It prpbablyjust had some bad luck while
saving the game.

But does anybody has an idea how to uncorrupt the file or whether that might be possible at all?

the chkdsk.exe (full path location no parenthesis ie C:\users\username\documents\adom) /F command line command for windows might fix corrupted files in that section.

Other than that and/or professional forensics software, I know of no way to even begin to uncorrupt individual files.

thx for the answer but I managed to do it otherwise!

The solution was renaming the corrupt Ramona.svg to Ramona_corrupt.svg without touching the *.bak File. Once there is only a Ramona.bak for a character Ramona Adom chooses this to be in the file selector, too.

Seems that simple renaming *.bak to *.svg worked in some earlier versions only...
