    Default Lost the Elemental Orb of Fire. Searched for 25000+ turns fruitlessly. Gave in.

    Let me say beforehand that this game set itself up for a very... interesting experience.

    First of all, I lost my guaranteed waterproof blanket very early on (second level of DD to an explosion trap) which set a very sour tone for the whole run. The gods must've been watching at that moment, because they were generous enough to hand me a jet black axe as a precrown on DD 5. I couldn't truly enjoy it. I knew my game would be a very long, drawn out experience, filled with mass losses of scrolls, rusting armors, drenched books, and the like, and me pushing along because they gave me a theoretical Disc 1 Nuke.

    Move a bit forward to Puppy Cave. Puppy is long dead, corpse pure as ever. Vault of orcs generous enough to give me uncursed amulet of rapid healing. Made visiting DD very worth it. I do not regret sacrificing healing for herbalism. I'd do it again.

    Fast forward to the Water Temple. By this point, I'm crowned L+, Fire Immune, Elven Long Bow on back, and on my way to slog through the lair of the Snake. My scrolls are few, I carry junk to augment my poor chances versus water breathers. It wasn't horrendously difficult, poisons did threaten my life a few times. I carry on, eating the corpse, gaining some nice corruptions. Herb training is significant at this point, save for low willpower. 15 potential. Never got it past that. Never had it higher than 13 naturally.

    Skip forward to Darkforge. A bit underleveled. 100 Find Weakness and the axe cut steel like dry wood. Teleportitis + Control. Very confusing. Very dangerous. Found a set of blue dragon scale male. Usually very interesting find, in this case it was the very best, considering I had an item to grant cold immunity. Three of the four aces one would need. Everything else was lackluster. Found cool whips. Bashed myself whenever I became L. Very easy alignment gain for a chunk of health. Rapid healing saw to it I didn't have to wait very long. Pool sipping was atrocious. Got para, petri, fire, cold, see invis, someone called me Iceberg, many golden balls, ate plentiful waterlogged meat, felt very, very bad, feel steady. No wish. Golems disregard armor. Axe disregards life. Got the steel crown. Wore it through. Read some books I was hoarding. Darkness, Invisibility, Light, Slow Foo, Magic Missile. Very good. Wish I had concentration. Mist Elf Assassin next game. Concentration is a must for casting. Praying for energy is very silly.

    Trip to DH2. 4 potions of exchange. Stole from various ring shops after buying out once. Prices get too high. Bless potions. Dip fire resistance rings (58 in all) twice. 1 ring of ice. Dip 16 rings of damage. Identify ring of slaying, rings of gain attribute (pe and wi, both not very interesting). Dip 9 potions of extra healing. Find potions of gain toughness. Fight for a bit. Haven't spent much money. Find a few ancient dragons. Fight some molochs. Bow makes it easy. Lots of money. 100,000 gold. Gift to my god later. Very Close.

    Head to Tower. Easy peasy, until last floor. Difficult fight. Wore Helm of Mental Stability. Still confused. Low Willpower. Equip Water Orb. Makes much more resistant. Fought with elementals. Drakes. Chaoslings. Rough fight. Slink away with corpse and orb. Equip orb into tool slot. Strength of Atlas has nothing on this warm ball. Quick trip to Pyramid. Get climbing set, extra thieves pick. Good utility.

    Cross mountains. Introduce self to tomb of high kings. Very fun. Last floor. Zap cold gotten from potion of wonder. Walk on. Forget to drop equipment. Mean fish are piranhas. Very painful. Crawl out with life. Equipment messed up. Drop all. Walk lightly. Skeleton is easy. Grab ring. Put it on. Free PV/DV. Good artifact.

    Rift. 100 climbing. Blessed kit. Fall. Things go bad quickly. Much of my inventory is destroyed. Eternium items crunched. Took lots of damage. Walk around. Forget how to find library. Many rivers. No teleport. No blanket. Swimming further destroys equipment. Eventually find second staircase, looked both up and down. Feel silly.

    Library is generous. Acid Bolt. Magic Missile. Lightning Bolt. Frost Bolt. No Strength of Atlas. Not worst possibility. Many repeats of spells. Found Teleportation. Very good. Scrolls of luck. Found Create Item. Left behind. Sacrificed Smart Crown. Could never utilize. Could never read. Was not wasting holy water to make safer.

    Go to Minotaur City for first time. Get lost for long time. No scrolls, Quit while climbing set was alive. Go to ice domain. Get rolled by the inhabitant. Run away. Should have visited earlier. Visit side dungeons. Very uninteresting. Coolest thing was bee hive. Try to pass Wall of Flames. Do not have orb.

    Where did I leave it? In the Rift? The Minotaur City? The Tomb? Too difficult. Spent many turns looking. Gave up. Didn't want to go home failure. World is doomed. Lay in grass until tummy rumbles. Eternal slumber for fallen hero.

    Ouch. I'm pretty sure I've managed to lose an unidentified ring of the High Kings once... on the wrong side of the guardian.

    too late now but i once thought I lost the fire orb.

    it was still in the tower - i'd forgotten to pick it up.
