Thread: Accidentally stole from Waldenbrook

    Default Accidentally stole from Waldenbrook

Hadn't played in a couple of months, had a promising L16 wizard saved waiting for me in Dwarftown. Decide to get to playing again, open it up, sell some loot, grap a book from the shop and walk out. Oops.

Looking for some info on the ramifications of this. If I just evade him and refrain from attacking him can I still talk to the other villagers that I need to talk to? I don't wanna move or do anything until I have a plan to handle this unfortunate situation. I don't usually rob shops.

Usually it's not easy to just walk out (he block the way).

Try to get a pet. If the shopkeeper would kill the pet, he could calm down. It worked for me once, though the pet was already there, a greater earth elemental .

Try the pet trick described above, if it doesn't work - take him to another level and execute.

He didn't block the way today possibly because I was invis. Or maybe he just didn't move to block fast enough. That sometimes happens and the book was right next to the door. One things for sure though, I walked out with the loot and he saw it.

I don't think I'm gonna bother with the pet thing. Nothing to summon with is available atm. I can survive without a shop for a while. I've still got the Casino left as a CoC shop. Gonna turn Waldenbrook's room into my treasure vault in the meanwhile.

if shopkeeper did not notice you and you pick us items (stole them), you can freely leave shop no harm done.

i too did this last day and revelation spell reveals no doom / cursed so tecnicly it was not a robbery .
normaly when you rob a shop and guards are summoned you get doom / cursed. but lookslike shoplifting dont count in this.

if you whant to be exstra save uneguip all invisibility items or dance around shopkeeper until he notice you before shopping.

Or just convince yourself that you actually want to steal items, then proceed to do so via invisibility. Chances he'll notice you the second you pick something up are really big

Waldenbrook seems to be a special case when it comes to invirobbing, though. He always sees you right away, even without generating the "stares at your position" message.
