Default Is anyone else surprised by player numbers?

The numbers are surprisingly modest, to me. Only half that of ToME on Steam despite only being out a bit over a month.

My guess would be that many old adom players also play the free non-steam version a lot. I'm not that familiar with ToME, haven't even tried it, do they also offer free version?

ToME has a free version, you should definitely try it.

ToME has a base price (in my region) of €6.99, and it's currently on sale for €3.49. ADOM, on the other hand, has a base price of €14.99 it's currently on sale for €13.49, and probably hasn't been cheaper than that.

I think that's basically the explanation, ToME falls below the impulse buy threshold (in fact even I bought it recently, in spite of the fact that I don't like it too much) while ADOM's price means that only people who really like the game will buy it.
