    Here's me. Came very close to surviving, just got stuck in a bad place without any PP.

    Phoenix, the drakish druid, died of acute blood poisoning.
    He scored 158129 points and advanced to level 20.
    He survived for 0 years, 15 days, 7 hours, 26 minutes and 41 seconds (39747
    turns).
    He ended his adventuring life on level 49 of some ancient caves.

    Hmm... we only used 3 prayers. Probably could have survived after all then. Oh well. Well played guys.

    Didn't see anything about just surviving the level on the rules - thought he had to survive the turn. So don't you and PJSB start over from turn before Al?

    The way that the trial rule has always been interpreted, AFAIK, is that a trial is only generated if nobody can escape the level (or, I suppose, that the PC's condition is so bad that descending to any random level will almost invariably result in a death anyway)--if the actions of the most recent successful player caused the deaths of all subsequent ones. The level that the most recent save is on is really trivial--you can basically just walk to the stairs, descend, and w5 the rest of your turn.

    This type of situation came up in one of the other leagues, Fame, I think. I agree that maybe I wasn't so clear about this in the rules thread.

    First thing I did was identify the potions and wands with two of the scrolls of id.
    Then I explored some and healed up a bit, followed by opening the room with all the water grues in it.
    I had to pray to heal myself once from the grue situation but then proceeded to kill them all in the room with the downstairs.
    I hung out in the room with the downstairs killing anything that showed up for about 300~ turns.
    The greater air elemental showed up so I went downstairs immediately.
    Died right after pressing > to the ancient red dragon.

    Edit : If it is decided by level and points then I got doubly screwed over, dying early in my turn and to an unavoidable situation. Al could have used a wand of knock and Jelly could have prayed :|

    Well, I guess I shouldn't have missed my first turn. If I had gotten screwed over like that once I would still have a chance if I hadn't missed my turn. Oh well, I don't think I've ever died the turn I went down stairs unless I died due to falling damage being Strained!

    Edit : Also I suppose you should take your turn Jelly, or Soirana might die of anticipation.
