Mana battery question

In my current game, I received the Mana Battery corruption. Whooptee-frickin-doo, yippee-aye-ay.
Anyway, the question is: I didn't use any of my wands since acquiring the corruption, yet all of them have 0 charges. Isn't this supposed to happen only to wands you zap with this corruption? Is this a bug?

No wands of wishing, fortunately.

Any wand that you touch get zapped by mana battery - this means picking up or dropping.

That's what I thought. The wands that were already in my inventory also got drained though, I didn't touch those.

Buuuut I may have dropped them in Ice Queen Domain and picked them up again later. I don't clearly remember doing that but I may have done that, I tend to forget I have that corruption, like drinking a PoCC after receiving poison hands...
