    Default Unarmed Mist Elf Necromancer

    In this run I only damaged or killed monsters with unarmed melee, altars, unintentional trap activation, and the acid blood corruption. I didn't use any companions or slaves. Mist elf damage reduction helped a lot, since you have to spend a lot of time in melee. Brass knuckle are iron, but immune to pain is enough to cancel out this damage. The biggest hurdle in the run is probably getting to level 25. Shadow touch is actually quite effective if you've been training unarmed, and can be used to effectively melee normal titans and molochs without using other sources of healing.

    Run highlights:
    • Started with a ring of damage. Used this for the entire run.
    • Found a spellbook of teleport in the puppy cave. Teleport ended up being very useful for getting rid of karmics, cats, and strong monsters. It saved my life from an early writhing mass of primal chaos created from a corruption trap.
    • Was precrowned with skullcrusher. Nearly abandoned the run at that point.
    • Was nearly killed by a raging Nonnak. Had to spend a prayer here to survive.
    • I started having serious difficulty at the frost giant caves. At this point I was barely able to kill frost giant berserkers, and had to sacrifice Haggar. I needed to clear the greater giant vault here to get to level 25, but the layout placed fire giant kings near the entrance.
    • Ended up clearing out the ice statue rooms in the ice queen domain, and found my first set of brass knuckles, as well as a 0 charge wand of wishing. Wished for girdle of giant strength. Used this power boost to clear the greater giant vault for Nature's Companion and Sun's Messenger. The single titan was sacrificed after he started raging at moderate wounding.
    • Shadow touch mana increases are frustratingly infrequent. I ended up using potions of exchange to swap a 47 mana stat into my strength right before mana temple (I was initially planning on getting 99 mana several times).
    • Got stiff muscles in the middle of mana temple, but managed to kill Nuurag anyway. Got a lot of stat drains in the process.
    • Attempted to poolsip for a wish (corruption removal to get rid of stiff muscles), but was unsuccessful.
    • Ended up using wands of door creation and monster creation to deal with the levers on D:50. Just fighting the balors on the levers gave a lot of corruption; fighting Fistanarious and rest was out of the question for this character.
    • Didn't crown the entire game. Using shadow touch constantly draws you to C- fairly quickly, and additional corruptions weren't worth the 1/6 chance of getting Preserver.

    Did you just punch ACW and stone beast? The latter... well, criticals would punch through, I guess.
    So far rolled 15 casters with RoDS and shamelessly killed them within 200 turns. For eternium glory!
    (after 15 I stopped counting...)

    If you were worried about your alignment decreasing from n= or l+, just kick the nuetral or lawful beings. Shadow Touch is only chaotic if you drain a non-chaotic. Spiked boots or heavy boots will increase kick damage.

    Yep, only option since they can't be sacrificed. ACW was done post GGV, so I had some damage from brass knuckles and GoGS. Stone beast is actually vulnerable to blinding from acid blood, which makes that fight much easier.

    Lol, not many people know that, as far as I know I'm the only one who likes to waste my time with the law skill to discover these things

    Thanks. I did use corruption removal (gained from ice queen quest and HMV): a few times for very light, once for decay, and once for mana battery.

    Nice run! Impressive that you used H2H exclusively and as a mist elf no less... I'm currently 3/4th of the way through my own H2H Human necro run and it is a ton of fun (although I am not playing with the same restrictions you are). I too nearly rage quit after I was precrowned with Wyrmlance so I feel you pain brother! I think the RNG took pity on me where my first and third corruptions were thorns (3d3) and horns (+3 melee damage). Only bummer is sandwiched between them is the corruption that spawns maggots but they don't survive long once they pop out.
