    Default Chaos Mutant attacks

As near as I can tell, Chaos Mutants have 2 attacks. Their speed is supposed to be 100, my speed was 122 and there was nothing slowing me. In this encounter, in one turn, it escaped a web and hit me for the first time, then got in 7 more hits to kill me without me getting a turn.

    Check it out:

Anyway I'm wondering if this is normal. It seems like there is some sort of problem here.

Did you cast the spell from a spellbook? That takes 3x as much energy, which would explain why everything else got 3 more turns as well.

    Nope, just cast.

Did you have the stiff muscles corruption? Or a drakeling slowed down? It certainly seems like all your enemies had multiple rounds.

The writhing mass of primal chaos slows when it hits, I would assume above that message buffer it got some hits on you and massively slowed you.

No. That's the thing... I hadn't been hit prior to this sequence, so not slowed or anything. The only corruption I got came toward the end of this sequence as shown. But yeah, you'd think something else must have happened. Hence the question. It just looks like "turns" went haywire.

I think it is far more likely that you were hit by the jelly that slows and didn't notice than some strange unexplained never before seen bug.

Well, likely or not, as mentioned my final speed was 120/120. The jelly had 2 mobs in line between me and it. And nothing is getting more rounds except the chaos mutant.

I do have a few more lines of buffer not included due to irrelevance, but I guess to show that moves are normal prior since there seems to be the suspicion:

A cave fisher corpse (120s) is lying here.
Find a suitable victim and then attack it in melee by moving towards the
    target.
You hit the cyclops and moderately wound him.

Was it original mutant or something converted to it (via raw chaos pots/traps/etc)?

IIRC, mobs retain lots of their properties if they are transformed into chaos jellies or chaos mutants...
So far rolled 15 casters with RoDS and shamelessly killed them within 200 turns. For eternium glory!
    (after 15 I stopped counting...)

What Soirana said. Most likely a quickling (or lord/king/queen) was transformed by the same trap before you found it.
You steal a scroll labelled HITME. The orc hits you.
