So it maybe might be useful until you find your first altar, then its utility greatly drops. Which means its utility wears out before you even finish the early game. Really its maximum potential is in the very early game, and then that utility is still dependent on conditional random chance.

Anyone know the probability of an altar spawn?

Youch! I’d put two weapon combat a bit higher personally, but I’m sure that’s just my preference and survival can be used to avoid wilderness encounters early on so I’d rate it a bit higher

Ahh yes, I remember that aspect of survival when I get a random skill increase in it, and then immediately forget. Probably belongs somewhere around Music and Disarm Traps.

I could probably figure this out.

Estimate the probability of an altar spawn

Rank item drops and estimate their relative frequency for the early game.

Estimate the probability of applying the appraising skill per game turn.

    Then take it from there.

Maybe after my current game I'll take it up, but I would need a rank scale for item drops. However, more than likely I'll run out of free time to do such a project.

Good luck with that, but I don’t really see why that’d be helpful.
