    Default First UCG - Dark Elven Paladin of a moody RNG, 121M points

    After being shredded by Andy with a hurthling bard, I decided to roll something that should be powerful throughout the game. Been playing since a long time, did an ULE back in the day, before the resurrection, but now finally got an UCG ending. Was aiming for and got the scoring achievements. Feels pretty good.

    I thought I'd need the cat ring for the score, but the RNG was feeling funny. After reaching the casino without killing cats, I put off meeting the cat lord for a bit. While waiting in the big room between a chaos lizard and a cave lion for the lizard to blast the cat, the bubbling mouth corruption cast a ball spell... thanks, RNG.

    • Chaotic altar in PC5. Precrowned with Wyrmlance (underwhelming, especially for a Raven, but situationally useful) and Helm of the Nighwatchman (not OP, but very very nice).
    • Found an AoL just somewhere in the early CoC, and 7LB in the big room.
    • ACW got a bit dangerous. Ice Ball/ Freezing Fury and the rune covered trident worked in the end.
    • No wishes from darkforge, no paralyzation resistence either
    • After the TOEF, there were only two critical situations: cat lord brought me down to 3 HP and bleeding. Prayer healed me, but also cursed me and my stuff.
    • Meleeded through a greater undead vault in the ice queen quest at level 23 or so. Great stat drain, but got me the chainmail of the martyred crusader - yay! One of my new favourites
    • chainmail allowed me to ball spell the bug temple to get the scrolls of magic mapping for the maze
    • I did careful application of potions of potential foo, carrot juice, morgia and moss, plus potions of exchange before the maze, and got most stats into the 20s.
    • Maze was really tedious this time, but I got 3 PoGA and 3 PoCC or so, and the axe really made me almost invincible
    • Slowed myself for the ancient stone beast and nearly got done in being surrounded by Earth Elementals and grues. Last really critical situation.
    • A greater fire vault in the lower CoC had a yellow ~ and a brown [. Not the bracers of war, but bracers of pure might and boots of the divine messenger rock as a well!
    • Same vault had a wand of wishing with 4 charges. Wished for potions of quickling blood and Emperor Moloch. Then speed for Andy.
    • Surge of power on CoC 47 with Arak's Guard. Really?
    • Third eye from potion of uselessness
    • Missed several artifacts, but only the Stone of the Ages would have been noteworthy
    • Despite having to remove several corruptions mid game (mana battery, etc.), I was having little trouble with it. Was able to invest some scrolls and potions into getting the second quickling tree corruption, and bumping my speed into the 190s at level 50. Then I even forgot the boots of great speed corrupt by carrying and I carried them into Andy's palace. I suppose having two background corruption reducing artifacts really helped.

    Thank you!

    It could be true about the speed, though I didn't particularly try. I play the ASCII version, and a lot of the game is so ingrained I can go through many things mechanically.
