    Default YAVP: Dwarf Merchant, slightly slower than Grond

    What you might call my first real victory in 3.x, or at least one that isn't with a "training wheels" class.

    A lot less luck this time, but got it when it counted. Wand of cold for the red lake, fire immunity and gear protection for TOEF all came at the last possible second: from a shop in HK dungeon, a wish from a Rolf pool and a POE dip on rings respectively. I think I would have won even without finding Thunderstroke in a minor vault around D:40, but it did help.

    One thing this run did have in common with my other win was that both PCs pre-crowned with Hornet's Sting. It must be lucky.

    I see you went for the wealthy line, cool. How much starting money did you get and what did you spend it on? Instant precrown?

    I got about 130k gold and yes, it went on a level 8 pre-crown.
