How do you pronounce ADOM?
adɔm or æɪdɔm or how?
Either way it feels wrong to me, the former one feels wrong because ADOM is an english abbreviation, the latter one just sounds so dumb. I prefer the former one though.

Of course it's unfair - that's the whole point.

Long a as in are, short dom as in dominate. I've pronounced it pretty German-like ever since I discovered the game ages ago, when I hardly even knew English, and I won't break that habit in this lifetime.

Check out my youtube channel to see my ADOM videos, including a completed playthrough of the game. I try to give instructions, so if you want to see some place you haven't been before and get some hints on how to deal with it, this might help! There's also some other games featured there that you might find interesting.

I pronounce it according to Finnish pronuncation rules (everything is pronounced pretty much like it's spelled): Short A as in barn or truck, short dom "dominate", the accent is on the first syllable.
You hit Andor Drakon, the ElDeR cHaOs GoD, and severely wound him.
The greater balor summons some help!
The ratling duelist disarms you. You drop your blessed Trident of the Red Rooster (+36, 6d12+18) [+12, +12]. It flies to the west.
Andor Drakon, the ElDeR cHaOs GoD, picks up the blessed Trident of the Red Rooster (+36, 6d12+18) [+12, +12].
Andor Drakon, the ElDeR cHaOs GoD, wields the blessed Trident of the Red Rooster (+36, 6d12+18) [+12, +12].
short a, long o with stress on it. In lithuanian native worlds all o are long as long as accent is on them.
So far rolled 15 casters with RoDS and shamelessly killed them within 200 turns. For eternium glory!
(after 15 I stopped counting...)
I pronounce it like an English abbreviation. Adom as in 'ei-dom' (long a, short dom). In Romanian it would sound very Slav-ish, because the accent would have to be on the 'o' and the 'A' would be rather short.
