I first played Adom sometime around 2000, probably gamma 15, but this is finally my first win some 20 years later

I've reached midgame dozens of times, but normally when the character gets strong, I start to play too fast and do something stupid. In addition to the mandatory paralyzation deaths, previous incarnations of Tuk died e.g.
  • L20 drowning in HMV
  • L20 eating a gorgon corpse at the banshee level
  • L29 picking up a wand in the Casino shop with the mana battery corruption, after I'd left all the money at the staircase in the previous level
  • ~L20 accidentally quit the game when meaning to save
  • ~L20 after getting precrowned with Silence of the Dead everything was too easy until I accidentally attacked the arena master between fights and ragequit

I started as usual by killing a bandit in Lawenilothehl, checking the shop for stones (no luck this time) and going SMC to get the blanket. Next went to generate the puppy to be saved later; Puppy Cave had also two(!) ring shops. IIRC, I went next to Dwarftown, then R1 to get the Tome and then got precrowned L14 with Third Eye. I wanted to save Khelavaster, but didn't find the amulet or wishes, and since I'd lucked into paralyzation resistance from a gelatinous cube corpse, I didn't want to drink from pools. But clearing the greater fire vault in FGJC resulted in enough money to buy the ring shops empty a couple of times, after which I got RoDS with the first PoE.

Saved the sage, reached L+, got crowned with fire immunity and Shirt of the Saints, which was used ever since – the log tells that the robe of the master monk was also generated somewhere, but I never found it. Banshee level had a blink dog corpse Fetched water orb and RotHK. Fire Orb was easy except for burning slings, but I got a stack. Got lucky with vaults: one more major fire and a major giant vault and several minor dragon vaults of all colors. The result was an absurd amount of cash and quite a few artifacts. Venom Mantle and the amulet of indomitable life were great, and boots of the far wanderer and Helm of the Night Watchman saw use too. In the end I had 5 artifact helmets! Didn't need casino gold but bought the silver key from the shoppe (left Wyrmlance and Headman's Hand to other interested buyers). Then I did the rest of the temples in one dive and reached L40.

I hadn't got any writing sets, so Blue Dragon Caves was tempting, but I decided to just finish the game instead. In preparation I went to Ice Queen to get the stat upgrade, picked up an extra RoDS (never used) from IC3 loot, drank all the stat potions etc. On D49 got quicksilver bracers for uselessness, but bracers of boxing are just better for a monk. On D50 got rewarded with True Strength and proceeded to wipe the level. Afterwards I had <200 marks missing from grand mastery in unarmed combat, so used a javelin of doom on the way out. Got congratulated in Terinyo and lived happily ever after
