Hurthling chaos knight found black altar in putrid cave before generating artifacts, crowned with lordship helm, then precrowned with holy scarf then skullcrusher.

Found martyred crusader chain in darkforge. The combination of scarf and chain meant I didn't experience _any_ background corruption even going below the casino.

I also found 'the wall' as random drop in a vault in antediluvian dungeon, leading to over 40 PV from artifacts alone.

Damage was ridiculous, esp. against humanoids. Had melee weapon master, a blessed damage ring, and all the heavy weapon talents.

Beat eternal guardian for first time, in melee. I prepped with some speed boosting and dex boosting potions. Only had to heal once. Initially tried to use coward mode but he hit me every time once he got his turn to act, so I went berserk instead. I'm not quite sure how chaos knights with weaker provisions even manage to handle him? Casino was a yawn to slaughter afterward and it was fun taking and id'ing all the items...

Anyway I sucumbed to a syndrome known as 'artifact greed'. Went into minotaur maze. I must have taken the unluckiest turns ever -- I swear every maze I navigated looked completely explored on every tile no matter how hard I stared at it, yet somehow getting below the 6th level eluded me. I could only take so much. Anyway I take solace in the fact that this character would have easily achieved a victory if he had found the emperor (a stupid knight victory, but a victory nonetheless -- demented ratling somehow got murdered in dwarftown). HE also could have just given up and left the maze, but I wasn't willing to take it!
