    I had a much easier time with this character, my second win. I was able to successfully pacify the Big Room for the first time; stomafillia led to my first ever precrowning.

    This character seemed almost overpowered; I had a good selection of spellbooks by the midgame and was able to power through pretty much anything. I got teleport control and the Teleportation spell early on, so I could always duck away if I got into trouble. Being precrowned with Protector didn't hurt, either.

    I feel like I finally have a good understanding of the basic game and might be ready to move on to ultra endings now. I completed many of the subquests for the first time with this character (BDC, Blup's Mom, Bug Temple). My biggest problem was with the Mana Temple.

    I ended up with three wishes, all from RoDS. About seven PoGA in addition to stat bumps from corpses and herbs. I also found seven league boots just laying around very early in the game -- I was able to keep that single pair of boots from being destroyed for the entire game. Lucky me!


    Notable moments:

    Having an easier time with nearly every boss in the game than I ever have before (killed the ACW with three bolt spells and the skeletal king never stood a chance).

    The exception to this was the Mana Temple, which I have only been to twice: I always have a LOT of trouble getting to the Archmage and this was no different.

    I ended up having to CLEAR the Mana Temple completely. Here's why: on my way out with the Orb, I see the following message. "The chaos warrior picks up the ring of djinni summoning." AAAARGH. I needed the Wish, though.

    I was absolutely shocked when I entered the Eternal Guardian's room for the first time, only to find FOUR Guardians, three of whom were hostile. I had the RotHK already and had never fired a bolt out of view on the level; I can only assume that a monster somehow made him duplicate himself. Fortunately, he is SLOW and I was able to Acid Ball all three EG to death. Each one was worth a level and a half. I was tempted to scum the EG for experience but decided against it (I later gained L50 in the BDC). After defeating the hostile copies, I made peace with the Eternal Guardian and was allowed to descend.

    Learning why even very advanced characters don't attack greater undead vaults; a group of master liches sucked 9 points off my Toughness before I could even blink, requiring a retreat to the Big Room for a couple stacks of morgia and mareilon.

    Avoiding a tension room of Greater Titans on the Mana Temple level by digging around their room.

    Burning two of my three wishes for "willpower" after the Mana Temple's Archmage sucked a bunch more off all my stats (I lost at least 5 points on every stat).

    Having to clear D:50 completely, since I'd never seen a wand of destruction with this character, and I wanted to save my last wish for SoCR if I ended up needing them.

    Absolutely clobbering the greater balor with my trumped-up Acid Ball.
