Fake Shop

Yeap, probably over 10 times. And once even on D:50.
Sometimes there's also special message - "This shop seems to be deserted."

Images can work...but I think they block imageshack. But I can put in a picture from my website and it shows up just fine.

I've had that a few times. The first one had the "This shop seems to be deserted" message and I remember feeling disappointed when it wasn't really a hoard of free items.

Those are plentiful in ID. In fact, the only shops that you find in the ID are these, fake ones. You get a warning message only (but everytime) when you step onto the doorway. But it's too late then. If you see a number of items as soon as you open the room (items always vary, or odd colours or no shopkeeper for instance) close it right away! Mimics cant open doors, but if you dont close it immediately, you wont shake them off easily. Many have died to things like mimic hivemind, which is near-guaranteed in the middle of this type of threatening room.

P.S. I should know. I dove to the bottom of ID. Trust me, it works like that >.>

These are dangerous in earlygame, Easy in middlegame and dangerous in lategame.

I was around D:40 and I stumbled upon one and of course I thought I could handle it - I have done it many times, mimics are easy.

...geez. Dont mess with mimic hiveminds. They CAN kill ANY character.

They can't see invis or fight back in darkness. Of course the paralysis can be a bitch, but I'm never been killed by one myself.
