    Sorry about the death there. Yeah, generating the black druid at exp. level 8 can
    make for a really tough fight. Considering that your missile skills were so low, you
    probably should have left DD:7 for a while to train them. Then Keethrax would
    have fallen easily. Oh well.

    To answer your previous questions: The command ':t' will change your dynamic
    display, just use it 4 times to display your elapsed game-turns. The requirements
    for a pre-crown are to be of non-extreme alignment (like L as opposed to L+), and
    to be at an exp. level that is equal to, or greater than 8 + (the # of artifacts generated * 3).
    Chances are that you weren't at exp. level 8 yet.

    A crowning would have been better I think, as it would have provided you an artifact
    + an intrinsic immunity + a permanant 'blessing'. The only requirement for that would
    have been an alignment of L+.

    So now there are 2 PC's left, and 1 yet to be generated. I think they are all winners
    though, so let's keep spirits up, we can still win.


    I'm taking 'Speedy' out for another run, and will probably have him back on the
    boards in a couple of hours.

    Oh right, I totally forgot about the level requirement. I'll have to stop playing when I'm drunk. I forgot what dungeon I was in when I loaded the game, and I didn't even notice the level message on his dungeon floor. I figured I might as well have gotten a precrown, and then a crowning, since my alignment wasn't extreme yet. Ah well. I've only ever gotten one orb before, in all my playing, and that was fairly recently, so I didn't think I'd have too much to contribute anyhow.

    You can grab old 'Speedy' here, he's been buffed enough to do the
    Pyramid and Griffyard easily enough. If the unfortunate does happen,
    it doesn't really matter, it's only a game after all : )

    Well, a few good things... and a few bad. I explored the CoC until I got to
    the two staircases and returned to the big room. I was trying to move an herb
    patch to a morgia/moss square, and it regenerated too fast, so we lost it : (

    Killed a hell hound, crossed the animated forest (tried the DH first, DH:1 was
    blocked by a mimic room, and DH:2 is also blocked by a tension room), cleared
    the ogres for +3 St, got the Gladius (and tactics, but no artifact shield from
    the elder) sacced the deamon and a bunch of other stuff (Big Punch, Rune
    Covered Sling, Torc), got crowned with =acid and Staff of Wanderer. Was on my
    way to do the Pyramid, because we are closing in on exp. level 17. I noticed
    that I had played ~10000 turns, so I just saved and pass it on.

    Some stuff yet to do: Get the TP wand, replenish rock supply in PC:1, do the
    Pyramid, Griffyard, and get the RotHK's. Or whatever, of course : )

    I'm having a go with the beastfighter. They're my favourite class, so I better not screw it up.

    Teleport control was gained with a little help from a fire vortex.
    I left our spellbook in Terynio as we won't be able to cast anything for a while.
    Getting literacy is a top priority, so I skipped the UD and headed straight to Dwarftown. Well I did stop at DDL to check it out, but there were no herbs there.
    I am told to kill a ratling warrior.
    48 kobolds had been killed when I talked to the barbarian.

    The ratling warrior was eventually killed in the big room. There are two stable squares in the west part of the room, one containing moss+morgia and the other stoma. Harvesting was a bit difficult, though, because of dark elf summoners and such.

    I read a scroll of identify and found out that we have no scroll of uncursing. I continued downwards. Finding moon sickle would eliminate any precrowning, but they're not that useful for beastfighters anyway. I stopped once I reach XP level 14.

    There is one problem: We have no armour. Our current one was destroyed and I had no backup with me. I was carrying a splint mail earlier, but sold it in Dwarftown. And I've used up all the money. We can survive without one, but there's no point in taking such a risk at this point. Raiding Darkforge is an option, but I've never done it and there isn't much room for errors.

    I used/ate moss and morgia right before saving.

    So Subconscious is starting the weaponsmith, right?

    My fingers are itching to play some more ADOM, but I think I'll let these characters be for now and just play a regular game for a change. That way I can play a more dangerous style without the risk of ruining our team efforts.

    Yea IDD... heres my weaponsmith

    Name: Alvin (almost like anvil )
    Zodiac sign: Candle - very good for classes like weaponsmith, I think Im gonna do druid quest.
    Race: Dwarf, I thought doubletrain on metallurgy and smithing could be efficient, plus they are all around good.

    I wasnt sure about talents so I decided to go on PV line. Hardy and Tough skin.

    STR: 18 LE: 7 WI: 12 DX: 12 TO: 22 CH: 9 AP: 9 MA: 13 PE: 12
    And aligment is of course L

    Lets see how this goes, im not very good with weaponsmiths but I play untill I get into troubles.

    I'm continuing with the bard.

    Picked up the teleport wand and only used one charge in the pyramid. Teleport traps were conveniently available on the way up and I had found a displacer beast corpse for one "extra charge".

    The graveyard was done without any incidents.

    I had three charges left on my wand of teleportation, so decided to have a look in the weapon and armour rooms in Darkforge. The only good armour was a mithril plate mail. There were some decent weapons, but they were all two handed. I sold some of them in HMV and took the rest back to Dwarftown. I had dropped our stuff on the DF stairs, and on the way back up a golem followed. His fire attack destroyed something on the ground, but I'm not sure what.

    We're getting a bit short on rocks and food so I fully explored the upper CoC levels. Not much there. I read up a remove curse spellbook. Sold some more stuff in Dwarftown and trained learning with Garth.

    This was a shorter turn, but there's no point in playing just a bit further in case the next player wants to go in another direction. We have a couple of alternatives as far as I can see. Either dive down, go to the high kings tomb or herbfarm in the big room. I left Speedy at the Dwarftown stash, so that the next player can decided what to take along and what to leave behind.

    How does this work? Do we get one of each class or just one of each race? Or, do we get one of each combination?

    So far it looks like we have done each race multiple times, but each class only once. I would like to attempt the High Elven Weaponsmith.

    I am sorry Baranor, but the early bird catches the worm : ) Subconscious has
    already generated our weaponsmith, so there are no other PC's left to be
    generated. Please have a go with the bard or weaponsmith though, and the
    dwarf weaponsmith will be available soon enough. I'm getting the beastfighter
    again.

    EDIT: Done for now.

    Did some herb farming, and got a stoma based crowning. We got =acid and the
    Bracers of War, so we got lucky with one at least. I did some dwarf quests,
    but there was a cat generated in the arena, and I had to use the scroll of
    teleport to escape. We still don't have the stuff to get the TP wand in the
    VDDL, but I did find an extra blink dog corpse lying just lying around. I
    sold it to Waldenbrooke, and headed for the Pyramid. I beat that and the
    Griffyard then saved. I played ~13,000 very fun turns, and I think this PC
    is quite powerful now. He took down a frost giant berserker in DH:2 with
    no problem. With the BoW, he now adds criticals to his melee game...scary : )

    Tasks ahead: RotHK's, as we have the cold wand. Darkforge, as we have an
    uber-PC, with plenty of spenseweed. Then pool sipping, as we have excellent
    piety, the Ankh, intrinsic blessing, and a spare BD corpse. Or whatever : )

    I'm getting the bard again.

    I checked out the shop in Lawenilothehl, and it had a wand of cold, so that
    was convenient : ) I decided it would be nice to be trained with a weapon of
    mass destruction, so I took our eternium two-hander to the cavernous levels
    of the TotHK's dungeon. I got the RotHK's and found an amulet of life saving
    in there as well. I cleared DF and saved.
