    Default In-game Sounds

Instead of or background music, i would suggest that ADOM could use sounds. eg. When you enter a new dungeon level or when you use your listening skill, a real sound is played rather than just a message.

Like you could have the cackling of goblins or you could hear the Kobold shaman utter a spell ! The banshee could be real creepy and what not.

I know its easier said than done but just an idea.

When I play ADOM I usually like atmospheric music, with a bonus if it gives me the creeps. I find Univers Zero's album "Combat" (and especially the track of the same name) to be optimal in this respect, for dungeons. Other Univers Zero albums are fine too.

Another good one is the suite from "Ed Wood" played on the theremin by Lydia Kavina.

If I were to use videogame music... well, for graveyards I'd probably use the 1st stage music of "Ghouls and Ghosts" (awesome soundtrack in that game - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBeJD...x=0&playnext=1 although the Master System version, which I can't find in youtube, was better). For Andor Drakon, the Dark Lich music in Secret of Mana ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7G0MoSl__E ). For supposedly long boss fights like those with the ACW and Keriax, the music from the boss fight in Ghouls and Ghosts where you killed the large green monster with orange thingies, the boss music from Equinox ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySg0Ov2QN74 ), and this awesome music from Ogre Tactics Knight of Lodis ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylAKVddRMx4 ) and the Starfox Corneria theme ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDFJQC7BhD8 ). For the Casino, the music from Adventures of Lolo I. For the rest... all tracks from Daggerfall. That game had awesome ambient music for dungeons, cities and wilderness locations (example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4X_nVFtnFM ).

Yeah, sorry, I'm an old-school gamer. Get off my lawn.

haha +1 for ghouls and ghosts music! (and yeah master system was better )lol

I usually listen to "8bit peoples" wich is music made from what can be describe by "atari and old nes sounds" as it may seems bad and annoying, most of the tracks are actually really good. Also, i lisen to some Machinae Supremacy, pretty much any song from them but mostly the ones from "jets and guns" soundtrack.

I've been listening to Machinae Supremacy while playing ADOM too recently. :b

I pretty much listen to any music while playing ADOM. Hell, my oldest memories of playing ADOM includes playing ADOM for 30 minutes while a single mp3 downloaded from KaZaA then listening to the song on loop for another 30 while I download the next one hahaha
I said it before, and I'll say it again. If I knew scripture like you, I'd prolly be an athiest too.. -gut

    BUUUUUUUUUMB for great justice!

While playing ADOM I listen music what I listen any other time too.

My musical taste is quite wide including almost all kinds of metal (black, thrash, doom, death etc) going all the way to trip-hop, rock, classical, game/anime OST's/compilations, Finnish iskelm? (apparently known as 'schlager' in English) etc.

If I'd have to say one example ... Well, I've listened to this emotional japanese one mans project band called ent a little lately. The album Welcome Stranger is very good, soothing and the sound world is just astonishing.

I listen to whatever I normally listen to which is pretty much anything. Lately it's either been Sci-fi bands like The Flaming Lips or The Mars Volta or awesome jazz giants like John Coltrane and Miles Davis.

I have pretty random tastes. I went through a metal phase, a country phase, and now I'm in a crappy pop music phase
If you're looking for new music, I recommend grooveshark.com. Not sure if it's available everywhere but it certainly works in North America.
