    Default Freaky items

What weird items have you had? I just found a +0, +3 medium shield. Also, on one character, I started with a +6, +1 medium shield. Also found a 1d2-1 orcish knife. No corroded items count.

Found a (+1, +1) [+3, +3] leather cap once. Spiffy. Useless at that point, but spiffy.
ADOM Guides - whatever you wanted to know about playing a certain class, but have been afraid to ask!

Check out my youtube channel to see my ADOM videos, including a completed playthrough of the game. I try to give instructions, so if you want to see some place you haven't been before and get some hints on how to deal with it, this might help! There's also some other games featured there that you might find interesting.

Whoa, just found +0, +4 leather armor. Maybe it has something to do with me being a bard?

Wow, just found +5, +3 small shield. Maybe something to do with bards? Also, I didn't know you could start with mithril items and such.
I also found something else. When you block something with your shield, it is based on the DV of the shield, not the PV of it. If your shield has 0 DV, it won't train the shields stat.

PV is just a damage discount on a hit you already took, it has nothing to do with shield skill.

And you can only have shield skill as high as 2x the DV bonus of the shield you are using, so a +0 +x shield won't train shield marks. While a +2 DV shield can train up to +4 DV in shield skill (meaning, when you get to shield skill 4, it stops training)
    Wins:

    Lvl 50 Dark Elf Mindcrafter.
Lvl 50 High Elf Assassin (Dual weilding).
    Lvl 50 Dark Elf Paladin.
Lvl 50 Gnomish Assassin (Failed ultra turned normal gate closer)
    Lvl 50 Hurthling Thief (ULE).

Thanks PBlack. That explains why my shield skill on most of my characters hasn't got higher than 7.
EDIT: Just found -1 DV, +5 PV elven chain mail. I didn't know it could give - DV.

I think that all weapons and armor can have something like +/-3 on their stats.
Hoping to win with every class, doomed. Archer, Barbarian, Bard, Beastfighter, Druid, Elementalist, Farmer, Fighter, Monk, and ULE Priest down.

Holy crap. (-1)[+2, -1] large shield. I think bards have an increased chance to find weird items.
    +2, -2 robe.

    Here are some:
ring of slaying (+12 melee damage, +6 missile damage)
gloves of smiting (+1, +1) [+18, +13] (+8 damage) (DV and PV are boosted with scrolls)
    bracers of toughness [+0, +0] {To+11}
    wand of wishing (5 charges)
    fickle sickle

+/-3 is common and possible to get in any danger level afaik. At higher danger levels at least +/-6 is possible
and maybe even more but these are extremely rare.

Also found a 1d2-1 orcish knife.
How? Orcish knives can't be 1d2...
