What cursed items are useful and why?
What cursed items are useful and why?
cursed pot of invis = potion of blindness. Useful when thrown.
cursed stomacemptia = useful for starvation scumming.
cursed pot of exchange = changes your stats around the most.
unholy water = dip invis potions here
There's more, even if stuff that is more useful at other statuses is not included.
cursed scolls of repair... (see other thread)
! of Poison (obviously)
I think blessed poison is > cursed.
Cursed stomafillia is better than blessed in that it won't
bloat you for a gazillion turns. Cursed potions of deafness
won't deafen you for eternity like the blessed ones do.
"Whip me!" pleads the adom player. The rng replies... "No."
What about potion of confusion when thrown at monsters?
Thanks. I think I knew most of those.
> potion of confusion when thrown at monsters
I'm reasonably sure that blessed works better, but
I wouldn't bet my life on it.
"Whip me!" pleads the adom player. The rng replies... "No."
Wasn't the problem with blessed potions of deafness that they don't deafen you at all and are thus entirely useless against the banshee?
ADOM Guides - whatever you wanted to know about playing a certain class, but have been afraid to ask!
Check out my youtube channel to see my ADOM videos, including a completed playthrough of the game. I try to give instructions, so if you want to see some place you haven't been before and get some hints on how to deal with it, this might help! There's also some other games featured there that you might find interesting.
Blessed "bad" potions are always milder than their cursed versions... because TB wanted to make blessed items less bothersome to players who try to identify potions by drinking them. Same as with scroll of danger, for example.
▼ All their fault. ▼
I wonder about potions of visibility. They didn't last long at all when I blessed them to try to do the arena. However, I got uninvisible later so it didn't matter anyways.
