    the thirteenth of november
    the night of the living dead.
    A curse on you
    and your character too
    for this is the pre-game thread.


    "And there was in the elder days, after the great Darkening, that there was born one in the month of the Raven, the month of Death, Messengers, Compantions and Tricks. And he was a duergar dwarf, a black dwarf, outcast from the tribes of the three mountain. He was fast, nimble and attentive, but he would never please his master, an unjust, terrible man. Never, before a poisoned dagger ended his apprenticeship. The master, Ibur, had taught him everything he would need to know about magic. And about death. And life after death. He was now a fully learned necromancer.
    And his name was Kharz.
    Kharz the necromancer.
    Kharz the cursed.

    As he took his first steps into the fateful valley, he heard a multitude of voices calling out. Each seeking to dominate him, control him. But he would heed only his true inner voice. He was somewhat hardy, due to all corporal punishment endured under his master, and also very alert to the dangers inherit in an unpredictable, unjust master.

    Welcome to the friday 13th challenge!

    Rules:
    • Start not before friday 13th.
    • Finish before 13th december
    • While role-play is encouraged, play anyhow you wish
    • Each contender only gets one try
    • You are a dwarven necromancer born in the month of raven, 13th november by our modern calendar
    • +10 speed, +2 perception, messengers reach you faster, harder to trick by deceptions
    • You have the "hardy" and "alert" talent
    • Discuss below, new report - thread to open on the 13th
    • (Character was generated by setting clock forward, to give time for preparation and discussion. This was first char born under "raven" (DEATH) starsign. Male selected, race was random)

    Alert? For some reason, I see a lot of dead
    necros in the near future.

    He's got 20 To and Frost bolt. Can't ask for much more out of a necro.

    While I usually support TH, in Friday the 13th challenges, you're main problem is to survive the early game, in which you need PV a lot more than TH. That said, starting with two talents (quite lucky for a cursed guy) choosing alert means everyone can choose TH if they want. Anyways we have hardy, so a few levels means PV++.

    I figured the extra talent came from high ma (didn't know what to expect) or just plain luck (1 in 7 chance). Since Ma is low, it must have come from dumb luck. So if you will, just imagine that there never was an extra luck-talent and that either "hardy" or "alert" never happened, whichever you prefer.

    While I believe TH sucks, I do not predjudice against those poor fools who can't live without it.

    I give up if it takes me 3 frost bolts to kill a hobgoblin and goblins stun me with every attack.
