    Default Speedrun Archmage Challenge

    Speedrun archmage testing.

It's possible. Difficult, but definitely possible. To
cast wish it will cost 3000 PP's. That's only if one
gets 100 castings on their first read. It would risk
destroying the book to try for a second read. It's
unlikely to get >100, but the chance can be increased
with the CoS. At worst, the PP's cost shouldn't be more
    than 3300.

So now we multiply the x3 penalty for bookcasting, and we
get a cost that sits somewhere between 9 and 10K. Having
a L alignment on Silvernight, or C upon Darknight will cut
the cost in half once, before casting, yielding a cost of
4,500 to 5,000. The bookcaster talents will cut this amount
in half once more upon the actual casting, thus leaving a
PP's cost of 2,250 to 2,500. Since we know that 1HP=2PP's,
that means the final cost of bookcasting wish out of HP's
will be somewhere between 1,125 and 1,250 HP's.

An exp. level ~38 elf wizard with a toughness stat of ~40
will not yet have 1,200 HP's, but they will have plenty of
PP's to cover a first wish for an AKW, with minimal HP's
loss. This would not be enough to reach exp. level 50, but
a couple of blessed scrolls of power and healing potion
should afford a quick second AKW, easily bringing exp.
level 50. At that point, the PC would have ~1,200 HP's,
    putting this well within reach!

The PC would get a few wishes before his PoEH, PoUH, SoP
deplete. These can be used for potions of boost toughness.
Repeatedly casting wish will have a 1 in 9 chance of
draining the PC's To stat by 10, so it's important to
start boosting it as soon as possible. The strength and
willpower stats also have an impact on HP's, but boosting
toughness would more than offset those losses. Soon, the
PC will have To boosted to 99, and not have to worry about
    HP's maximums anymore.

So with all healing potions gone, it's down to the good
old Water Orb/Elemental Guantlets combo to cover future
healings. It will give MUCH less corruption than the
Mana Orb though, so isn't nearly as big of a concern as
for the traditional archmage. A few occasional wishes
for SoCR would be more than enough.

So now we start thinking about what kind of a timeframe
(turnframe : D) is needed. Killing multiple Eternal
Gaurdians, tackling the Mana Temple, or clearing D:50
are all possibilities. The way I see it though, the
minimal advancement would be to acquire the Earth Orb
for the +10 To, and kill Sharod for the exp levels. The
Shield of Raw Steel is easily attainable for another
big To boost. It is possible (probable?) that potions
of boost toughness, or other +To items could be found
in the casino. A few lucky finds could make the process
    much more safe.

A wiz can beat the game in 20,000 turns, so let's take
that as a point by which the Earth Orb and SoRS can be
acquired. Add on an extra 3,000 turns for the rift dive,
and wish book obtainment. Then you have to wait for
either Dark or Silvernight. I have little idea how long
this should take, maybe 1000 turns. Reading the stupid
book eats 3003, and the wishing will take another 1 or
2 thousand. In fact, including all the AKW killing that
would happen, maybe add an extra 1000 : ) Beating the
game after that should be a cakewalk, we'll say 2000
more for that. So who wants to do it?

i'd rather chase imaginary 5k turns victory...
So far rolled 15 casters with RoDS and shamelessly killed them within 200 turns. For eternium glory!

What would your strategy even be for that? Somehow do Darkforge right away, followed by the ToEF, followed by diving the CoC?

it was theorized some time ago:
start wizzy with TP book or means to rob BM
    get levels in temple
use uncontrolled tp in DF to get pools, get tp control from pools.

Win in remaining 4k turns... IMHO, last part is rather problem too...

5,000 turn speedrun won't happen without
    the SoRS. I gaurantee it.

Sure dude. Raw steel shield is in these 4k to win.

My cuurrent attempt wished for tpcontrol rings in DF on turn 660 or something like that. Now it is pure question how i will screw things this time...

As i probably said before. One of things till keeping me in game is a dream of 5K game. Being troll as i am i will hijack this thread for my dirty needs

It might not help me, but at least it will help someone to get the run done.

First thing first. Shot were all bugs are placed. I missed this one a lot once i started.

Basic speed clear rules in da temple.
[two bolts= dead bug unless you managed to get yourself cursed or worse]

    1. Do not do like gut recommends in his demo. He looses up to 100 turns to optimal way.
    2. Do not step initially step eastwards. the first bug still has to cover three spaces in two turns in it is not like he will get double movement twice in row.
    3. Instead of running arroun corners procede diagonally. [Actually to caught second bug i'd say one more step east]. You might want to navigate arround the western central bug but that depends on taste.
    4. Basically as you reach three tree group you want bolt diagonally down while standing north of western tree. Waking up these groups from distance makes your life easier...

To be continued at later date.

I still believe in 5K run could be done. Since it christmass [coming soon] i thought giving prize for someone doing this [or lesser one for anyone cutting under 6K mark].

Speedrun should be done on server since that is only case turn reduction can be checked. I actually thought of paying cash [like giving certain sum for each turn under 6K] but i am afraid Jaakos would have issues with gambling laws [not sure how it comes in Finland but at home it would be problem].

Any ideas how this could be organized/solved?
