i found one in upper levels of CoC.

looks like one julius was there before us inscription said "veni, vidi, vici" in ADOMspeak (something along civi, nevi, divi to be exact). do not remember more, unfortunately this char died level below drowning while running away from the horde of blink dogs he managed to spawn

I like the winks at Calvin & Hobbes and Nyan Cat. Those who know the works will get the reference, but the statue descriptions are completely in line with ADOM's fantasy setting and don't feel out of place.

Also found my first:

You stumble upon a statue. It resembles a young human girl of seven or eight, carved from obsidian. An inscription at the bottom reads: "I forgive nothing."

Found one. Btw, if the status is on the level, the message "You sense something of historical significance." is displayed periodically.

A marble Dark Elven archer stands here. He looks very powerful and very corrupted. You sense a faint soul here. An inscription at the bottom reads: "Neji. - Defeated all his foes except for the chaos inside of him."

Another one just on the next level:

It depicts a standing warlock, holding a sharp, glittering sword with a hilt shaped like a miniature dragon. An inscription at the bottom reads: "Adar, Guardian Battlemage."

You stumble upon a statue. It looks like nothing you've ever seen. The form twists and shifts constantly, shimmering with dizzying energy. An inscription at the bottom reads: "dEDiCaTeD tO tHe eSsEnCe Of ChAoS. mAy yOu AlWaYs ChAnGe!"

Found another interesting one referring to greek mythology:

You stumble upon a statue. It's of a dark-haired women wearing a toga and holding out a golden apple An inscription at the bottom reads: "Kallisti"

Note the spelling/interpunction error. Kallisti means 'for/to the most beautiful'.

You stumble upon statue. It is shaped like a perfect hemisphere, made from some unknown metal. Though its surface is tarnished, you can still see your distorted reflection.

You stumble upon statue. The statue is unfinished, it's as though the sculptor ran out of time.

and the message is repeted twice, prolly bug

You stumble upon a statue. The life sized human female monk in a fighting position is carved from a single block of ivory, her arms spread in a defensive figure. The air around the statue tingles strongly and when you avoid focusing on the sculpture with your eyes, you can't stop thinking as if the monk is swaying ever so slightly her robes flattering (I think they mean fluttering) in the draft. But there is no way that could be the case, the statue is still and unmoving upon close inspection and the ivory is rick solid on touch... An inscription on the bottom reads: "Maen, the kata training master of Dela"
