About Doors and Darkness

There's a strange effect that happens sometimes with darkness, particularly in cavernous areas. Occasionally, you will see a few squares on the board that don't appear properly filled in by the darkness. When you walk on them, it will say "It is dark here", but the tiles look like a regular square, and, from my understanding, behave as a regular square (eg. if a monster is standing on one of those squares, they will behave as though they are not in darkness).

This also happens in some rooms in the place where the door should be. Here's some screenshots that illustrate what I mean:

Code:
   ######### ######
   # # #
   # ############################### # ### ###########
   # / / # # / # # #
   ########################### ##### # ####### # # #
                 # # # # # # # #
       ########### # # ####### #####/####### #
       # # / # # # # / #
       # # # # ####### # # #############
       # # # # # # # #
       # # ################### ############### # ##### #
       # . # # / / # # #
       ############# # ######### ################# ### # #######
                   # # # # # # # . #
                   # ### # ######### ### #
                   # / # # #
                   ############# #######
The room in the lower left corner is under darkness (most of the level is), but there's one square in the entryway that is not.

Code:

                                       ###### #########

This cavernous level is completely immersed in darkness, but you can see that there are a couple of random squares that seem to be, for whatever reason, not in the dark.

[edit]I can post the savegame if that would be helpful. These are adjacent levels.

Possibly they are the 'door' areas for the basic layout of the level, before the level is further altered into a cavernous one? Generally they are at places which mark endings of corridors into rooms, and the ones that aren't could be imagined to be endings of corridors too (where the 'caverning' script became somewhat enthousiastically).
Would still be a bug ofcourse... But as you can see in the upper shot it's only would-be doors that leave the dots. Showing no doors in darkness would probably also solve the showing of the dots that are representing kicked doors.

I'm not sure whether the creator wants or doesn't want darkness to work in doorways or not. But this issue hasn't been addressed in 1.2.0 pre 1,2,3?

As of 1.1.1, creating a door with the wand and then kicking it down will turn its tile into a doorway one. Anyone knows if that happens on 1.2.0pr3 also?

^ It does.

This bug also affects the tile Dak usually stands on.

Darkness not working in doorways was always considered a feature. But starting with Prerelease 11 doorways are handled in the same way as a normal square.
