Magic Missile safety mechanism
Make the game warn you if your spell will bounce back at you
Everybody who has played a wizard has suffered this special kind of YASD: Mistype the direction of a bouncing spell in a narrow corridor and the spell kills you.
Now what I'm proposing is that the game checks situations like this

where the player makes a typo and fires a bouncing spell, like Magic Missile or Death Ray, in the "6" direction. The game would then make a confirmation prompt: "Casting the spell in that direction makes it bounce back at you. Continue anyway [y/N]?"
