Fleeing from a wolf pack in the wilderness results in all individual wolves wandering off

I would consider this an unintended function, as no other encounter I have fled from has caused this issue. For reasons I do not yet understand, a pack of wolves encountered randomly by the Caverns of Chaos behaved strangely after fleeing from the battle. I received many duplicate messages notifying me that the wolves were wandering off into the distance (or something to that effect, I can't remember exactly from memory). I have not managed to replicate the issue but will continue trying to do so. As far as I could tell there was no real impact on gameplay. Just a string of superfluous messages.

Edit: I did in fact manage to reproduce the issue, this time with a band of skeletons south of Terinyo. As far as I can tell, unfortunately, I am not doing anything different in fights where this occurs.

I really have no idea what might be causing this. I've also never seen it happen... any ideas from anyone :-) ?

I'm not sure if I've replicated this behavior, but I think I've seen what he's talking about.

When you enter the world map, any *adjacent monsters* either follow you, or give a "so and so wanders into the wilderness" message. I *believe* that sometimes, when a monster follows you, it won't actually show up the next time you enter a dungeon or have an encounter. This will then sometimes generate "so and so wanders into the wilderness" messages.

Anyway, to get the behavior, have a wilderness encounter, walk to the edge of the map, and wait a bunch so that the monsters are next to you. Then leave and have one or more other encounter(s) and see what all happens. You get a mix of stuff,it never occurred to me that this was a "bug" as such; I always just assumed it was a yet-to-be-implemented feature.
