    Appendix K - Quests
"Many of the quests are assassinations. It is not strictly necessary for the PC to do the killing. A pet or slave can do the dirty work."

You should warn that, at least for some quests, letting a pet do the assassination results in no rewards.
For example, once I had a tamed bear kill the black druid, and, when I went back to Guth'Alak, he didn't give me any rewards, he just said something along the lines of "I heard someone else killed Keethrax".
I just checked for the Kranach quest and the same happens: when you talk to Tywat Pare after your pet kills Kranack, he says "I've been told that Kranach was slaughtered by someone else. But unfortunately, it wasn't you... Try to be faster in future quests."

Yeah, I also think the tactic of dropping equipment to make a trap-disabling run is general enough to be included.

    "3.2.3 Dak, the arena master"
It might be worth mentioning that confusing Dak from inside the arena (by using Mindcraft) doesn't make him hostile. This might be a bug. Also, while attempting to teleport inside the arena will ordinarily always fail, doing so while standing on Dak's usual position will not. Said position is also a doorcase tile and shares all idiosyncrasies (darkness works partially, traps can't be created) with them.

Also, if you create a closed door on the tile the PC is teleported to after winning a fight, it will be opened and the message "You hear a short clapping sound" is displayed upon winning again. This is the only way to teleport on top of a door in ADOM, and according the old bug tracker, said effect was intentionally coded for this sole possibility.

    "3.2.5 Ratling rebel"
The messages on the scrolls vary depending on their B/U/C status. Also, after obtaining the scroll of peace from him, he will not give pamphlets anymore.

    "3.4 Si"
"A particularly nasty effect results if sis are brought into the ID. On a long trip through the ID, sis will replicate to the point where they become annoyingly heavy."

A workaround is to sell or sacrifice them until you only have one, or a single stack. Then you can put it in the missile slot (they will never replicate there) or drop it immediately after descending to an ID level, so that it has no time to create copies of itself.

"Furthermore, monsters in the ID will not pick up sis"

Monsters will never pick up a si anywhere. Presumably, this is so that the player doesn't miss this wondrous item on the level it's generated on.

    "3.5 Dwarftown"

A guaranteed climbing set is generated on Dwarftown, but it will be picked up by one of its residents 99% of the time. A very lucky player might be able to retrieve it before this happens.

    "3.5.2 Ruun, the priest"
Attempting to sacrifice Ruun on any altar will not work, and of course, will make him hostile.

"Note that converting the altar in Dwarftown (perhaps even attempting to convert it) will cause Ruun to become hostile, which in turn causes the entire town to become hostile."

If you can somehow lure him off the level, he will not get angry if you convert the altar.

"Donating gold to Ruun moves the PC's alignment closer to that of the altar."

According sorear's wiki, you gain one alignment stone for every 20 gold pieces donated. If you're both of the same alignment, you gain one point of piety for each 15 gp.

    "3.5.3.1 Thrundarr's quests"
"Teleporting him causes no alignment drop; Thrundarr does not become hostile and he will still assign quests."

And even ask the PC to go to his house and pull the lever if you complete the portal quest and 'C'hat with him

"Drakeling spit will also cause him to move from the lever without negative consequences."

    As will attempted petrification.

    "3.5.3.2 Ogre Cave"

Jochen has mentioned on the bug tracker that the strength/power of the ogres generated here is proportional to the PC's.

"There is a bug in the game which prevents pets from inflicting any damage on the level."

    That is an intentional effect.

    Source for both statements: http://www.adom.de/forums/project.php?issueid=888

    "3.5.4 Dwarven Mystic"
"A wished-for Dwarven Mystic also always responds with this message."

Dwarven mystics can no longer be wished for as of 1.2.0pr1.

    "3.5.6 Glod, the dwarven smith"
"Glod is also capable of removing rust from rusted items and fixing certain broken items, notably pickaxes"

Corroding pickaxes by attacking ochre jellies and gray oozes with them will decrease Glod's repair fee. For pickaxes corroded to 1d6-9 damage, the discount is substantial.

    "3.5.7.1 Bart, the grizzled gladiator"
"Bart provides teaching in three skills: Backstabbing, Tactics and Two Weapon Combat in exchange for the Golden Gladius"

The proficiency at which the PC learns these skills seems to depend on the Learning stat. With very high Le, receiving Tactics directly at 100% has been reported.

    "3.5.9 Others"

Aside from free pickaxes, killing any of the monsters listed is a moderate chaotic act. If the player needs to quickly become C- or reduce their alignment for whatever reason, it can be achieved this way. You may also recover the aforementioned guaranteed climbing set this way. By making dwarves and guardians hostile, then can also be milked for axes. Lure them off the level before doing any of this.

    "3.7.1 Saving Khelavaster"
"He is on the down staircase and it is impossible to descend further without saving him or allowing him to die"

More specifically: he has a SR of 500%, which means he will shrug off and ignore any non-ball spells, teleport attempts from the wand, and Mindcraft, excepting (Greater) Telekinetic Blast which kills him. You can't ':s'wap places with him, even with the Monk and Beastfighter powers. Companions and monsters will refuse to attack him.

"A ring of djinni summoning may also be generated in the Infinite dungeon, which provides a wish when blessed."

RoDS are DL8, which means you must descend to at least I24 before they can be found. These levels are much deeper than the I6 to I9 where an amulet of life saving can be found, and have moderate background corruption. Digging graves in the dwarven graveyard and raiding the Water Dragon Lair are relatively risk-free ways for prepared PCs to find a RoDS, as both are high DL areas. Dipping stacking rings on a blessed potion of exchange on D: 8 is also an option.

"The exact stats of the eternium dagger vary, it may be as good as (+0, 2d4+10)."

It can have prefixes and suffixes too.

    "3.8 CoC Graveyard"

Altars can be generated in the inner sanctum. In rare occasions, the small room in the southwest can be a tension room.

    "3.9 Water Temple"
"The only monster found here who sees invisible is the Snake from Beyond. None of the monsters sees in Darkness."

The SfB sees in darkness and can't be blinded as of 1.2.0. It can, however, be stunned by a thrown potion of cure poison on any version.

    "3.12 Eternal Guardian"

The EG walks diagonally, and can smash doors. Besides hit and run, another tactic the PC can use is creating alarm traps, have two copies of him fight, then kill the (weakened) winner. If an altar is generated on the level, sacrificing his duplicates is also an option. Do note that he is lawful, and killing him or his copies is a chaotic act.

    "3.13 Casino"

As of 1.2.0, excessive gambling corrupts you, making it a less viable option.

"3.13.4 Strategies for robbing the Casino"
"There are a number of events that will cause all the monsters to become hostile (...) zapping a wand of destruction that damages any of the guards or the walls of the Great Gift Shoppe are examples."

Damaging the walls with a wand of destruction doesn't trigger an alarm. As of 1.1.1, the player can also teleport Hugo and nearby casino guards from their location to avoid hurting them with the blast, then zap a wand of destruction in the down staircase area, and kick-rob all non-glass items. A technique I will dearly miss

In 1.2.0, robbing the Casino was made much harder, but I don't remember how.

    "3.18 Earth Temple"
"Exact statistics for earth elementals and stone grues are not available from a blessed stethoscope (...) earth elementals have about 210 hitpoints, stone grues about 240 hitpoints."

This part should probably be removed, as you provide the exact stats for all monsters right above this paragraph.

"All of these monsters will fall to brute force or magic."

Spamming ball spells in Coward tactics can be a good way to clear a path if you get surrounded. Just mind your HP.

    "3.19 Unreal Caves"
"There is no way to prevent the item destruction."

The Alertness skill is highly effective to dodge breath attacks. I think so are DV, Dodge and speed as they're for energy bolts, but I haven't checked. Resistance and immunity to shock, either intrinsic or from items, and positive Luck, all reduce the amount of items destroyed when bolts do connect.

"3.20.1 Srraxxarrakex, the ancient blue wyrm"

His corpse grants lightning immunity, but is not guaranteed to be dropped. Having the Food Preservation skill at high values and dealing the final blow using ammunition with the prefix "of hunting" are recommendable if the player wishes to acquire it. A recent bug report suggests generation chances are greatly increased if you attack using a melee weapon with the same prefix, then deal the killing blow with a 'k'ick.

    "3.21.1 Nuurag-Vaarn, the Chaos Archmage"

He can be blinded with cursed potions of invisibility and will not cast spells while staggering. I like doing that, then spamming Acid Ball; just have high Wi and make sure he doesn't stagger outside of your reach if you do this. Don't fight honorably against this guy. He sure doesn't.

    "3.23 D: 49 - Frictionless Ice"
"It is covered with ice that is too slippery to cross by normal means. Spiked boots do not help."

As of 1.2.0, wearing the moloch boots "Moloch's Torns" allows you to walk on the level normally.

It might be worth mentioning that monsters cannot be wished for, Necromancy cannot be 'a'pplied, and 'r'eading scrolls of familiar summoning doesn't work on D: 49. However, as of 1.1.1, 'u'sing figurines and djinni appearing from non-blessed RoDS work normally. Monsters created in this manner have no trouble walking on the ice.

Webs can be created in this level, by the spell or wand. If the player gets stuck in them, they're still limited by the slippery ice's properties and can't break them by walking, effectively leaving them trapped. Creating webs on D: 49 is thus an extremely bad idea. There is ordinarily no reason to do so anyway.

    "3.24.4 Paragon of Order"
"Note that if the player commits a chaotic act after becoming Paragon, True Strength will slowly squeeze the PC to death."

The girdle becomes cursed when this happens, and cannot be removed by any means - uncursing it will only result in immediate recursing. It does 8d6 damage, and reduces Dexterity by 1 for each squeeze.

    Typos
"thus making his smithy available for free, bur beware" (but)
"Summarizing the usefull items for the Dwarven Halls:" (useful)
"a good reason to develop the PCs missile weapon skills." (PC's)
"However, he is fast, and moves as if he's wearing seven league boots)." (boots.)

The climbing set sometimes shows up on a different floor from DT. I think it is tied to the floor number, not to the location of DT. Have not investigated this in detail.
Hoping to win with every class, doomed. Archer, Barbarian, Bard, Beastfighter, Druid, Elementalist, Farmer, Fighter, Monk, and ULE Priest down.

Everything is fixed except strategies which are too specific - eg. you can use cursed potion of invisibility on *any* monster, it is mentioned in 0.9.5.4 - there is no reason why you should use it specifically on Nuurag-Vaarn.

You can no longer use cursed potion of invisibility on any monster (specifically, orb guardians).

IGB: I'm mostly commenting on stuff I see, rather than suggesting everything I write here be added

Talking about disabling methods, thrown potions of cure poison will stun monsters with poisonous attacks (only), with 100 percent effectivity, except revenants which are undead and cannot be stunned. This might be worth adding to section 0.9.5.4.
