    Default ADOM: The Resurrection Twitter Development updates

    For those not following Thomas' Twitter, here are the updates:

    1. Oct 10: First true change of mine to #ADOM after ten years: Separate maximum number of corruptionsfrom the actual corruptions you can gain...
    2. Oct 10: First new corruption added to #ADOM and tested successfully. So much more randomness... sweet :-)
    3. Oct 10: Corruptions from now on use subsets in #ADOM. Subsets are quite stable for individual games... although not totally so. Be SuRpRiSeD!
    4. Oct 13: Corruption in #ADOM now also enters the watery depths with even more determination...
    5. Oct 13: CoRrUpTiOnS in #ADOM now might turn you into a cold-blooded bastard...
    6. Oct 13: Corruptions in #ADOM now really can get you sweating....
    7. Oct 14: Corruption in #ADOM found new ways to express itself... whispering... babbling... obscuring... offering new dark secrets. Be FoReWaRnEd!


    I will update this list as Thomas reveals what he's working on.

    I've bookmarked his Twitter after reading the last article on his blog, which is located here in case someone doesn't know.

    Looking forward to more updates. Let's see if someone's suggested "armor has melted with your body" corruption (which made me shudder) makes it

    1. Oct 19: Corrupted beings in #ADOM can now be truly vile maggot-ridden filfth...
    2. Oct 19: 13 new corruptions in #ADOM - already one more than promised but they just are too much fun ;-)
    3. Oct 19: 13 new corruptions in #ADOM indicate that we can do prerelease 4 - the first donor-only release - on Sunday. Barring bad surprises...
    4. Oct 19: 14th new #corruption for #ADOM: Focussed sight. Kind of.
    5. Oct 19: 16th new #corruption in #ADOM: physical decay following mental decay...
    6. Oct 19: 17th new #corruption for #ADOM: You get tempted to consume Order.
    7. Oct 19: That's it. 17 new corruptions for #ADOM. Almost 50% more than promised during crowd funding. A small bonus for the delays ;-)

    Killing the druid for the shield or keeping him alive is surely one of the more interesting choices in the game.

    I wonder how TB worked around the problem of the quickling tree getting even harder to get to with more corruptions?

    1. Oct 21: Just finished preparing Prerelease 4 of #ADOM. Now waiting for Thomas to send the email to all pledgers.


    Also, from the Ancardia.com change log:

    ADOM 1.2.0 Prerelease 4 Changelog (21 October 2012)

    - Feature 1284 - Add 12 new corruptions (actually 17 were added)
    - Issue 716 - another batch of typos was fixed
    - Issue 720 - Breakable/alterable artifacts
    - Issue 728 - 'your muscles bulge' message without strength gains
    - Issue 918 - +Crit armor doesn't increase critical hit rate
    - Issue 1245 - Altar changes to white instead of black(Mac OS X)
    - Issue 1246 - "u"sing a hatchet always advances turn
    - Issue 1252 - wrong list of artefacts in post-mortem info (see Issue 1265 and Issue 1268)
    - Issue 1254 - Burning Hands +modifier remains at 0
    - Issue 1272 - Hunger status doesn't change immediately with drakeling spit
    - Issue 1274 - Deciding not to attack a neutral monster increases energy cost of next action (see Issue 765)
    - Issue 1275 - ADOM crashes on launch after crash during play
    - Issue 1280 - Improve error handling on Windows and OSX

    I have just received my e-mail from Thomas, so the first private pre-release is now available!

    Good ADoM-ing, everyone!

    Also, it seems saves from 1.2.0 p3 is compatible with the MS-DOS release, although from Jochen's post below, this may not be the case for other OS versions
